JOB DESCRIPION:  Performs clinical psychiatry duties in the Student Health Psychiatry Service, including psychiatric diagnostic and treatment services to patients with psychiatric conditions.  Prescribes medication and orders lab work and referrals when necessary.  Collaborates with other Student Health Services providers as needed.  Participates in Student Health Services staff meetings. Completes annual required mental health trainings, including cultural competency training and quarterly peer reviews.  Maintains knowledge of best practices in clinical psychiatry.  Reports to the Director of Psychiatry Services.    Coordination and Outreach Duties: Works with other departments in the Division of Campus Life (e.g. Counseling and Psychological Services) and with other Emory University departments (e.g. Emory College, graduate and professional schools) to more effectively meet the needs of students and the university community.  Serves on various committees, writes protocols and participates in campus outreach and other health education activities.    Department of Psychiatry Duties: Supervises psychiatry residents and fellows as assigned at Student Health Services. The Emory Brain Health Center, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and the Emory Transplant Center are partnering together to aggressively expand our clinical and academic footprint in the metro-Atlanta area. Together, we are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic faculty to partner with us and contribute to the field through the tripartite missions of education, research, and quality clinical care.   The Emory Transplant Center is Georgia’s most comprehensive solid organ transplant program. The transplant center ranks among the top 12 programs in the nation and was recognized at the first organ transplant center in the nation to receive the Patient Centered Specialty Practice Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance   The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, one of the top academic programs in the country is part of the Brain Health Center, a collaborative five specialty unit that offers an enriched research environment in both laboratory and clinical setting in addition to academic training opportunities in graduate and undergraduate education. Faculty members have opportunities for clinical, research, and academic collaboration with other Brain Health faculty including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation Medicine and Sleep. In addition to the other departments at Emory.   Together the Department of Psychiatry and the Emory Transplant Center are seeking an Adult Psychiatrist who is interested in the growing dynamic field of Transplant Psychiatry. A successful candidate will join our Transplant Behavioral Health team and as part of this team, the candidate will be instrumental in developing improved methods of organ transplant and organ donor screening, post-transplant integrative care and the use of onsite clinical services and telepsychiatry as platforms to maximize the quality of care provided. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Addiction Psychiatrist to join its outpatient faculty. As part of a growing Addiction Psychiatry Service, this position will offer the opportunity to participate in clinical care and education. Support staff for scheduling and case management will be provided.  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical outpatient addiction care, teaching and collaboration are priorities for this position. Research or related-funds can offset the percent time for any of these activities. All faculty are encouraged to supervise residents and fellows. Proportional call is an expected clinical responsibility with cross coverage availability for vacations and conferences. Office space will be provided at the newly built Emory Brain Health Center, which includes on-site parking, as well as lab and urine drug screen testing. Successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary treatment team with expertise in addictions. Services including scheduling and intake coordination will be provided. The position also allows for CME time with monetary allowance, relocation, and an advantageous retirement plan. QUALIFICATIONS The rank of the appointment is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicants. Applicants should hold an unrestricted license for the state of Georgia and be board certified in Psychiatry. The candidate must be board eligible in Addiction Psychiatry. Obtaining board certification will be a requirement for retention.  Consistent with the current vision and mission of the department and the division, preference will be given to applicants who have a combined and integrated interest in clinical, research, and teaching activities.
