  Emergency Radiology Trauma Nocturnist: 13 weeks of clinical duty per year   Job Description: The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Radiologist to join the thriving, expanding Division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging (ETI). Position opening is to replace a radiologist leaving the practice.   The nocturnist position rotates 1 week on (9-hour shift, 10p-7am for 7 days) and 3 weeks off (inclusive of recovery, vacation, CME, academics). This equates to 91 clinical shifts per year. The Division as a whole provides emergent interpretations at 7 Emory-affiliated hospitals. The nocturnist will focus their clinical care exclusively at one of the Southeast’s busiest Level 1 trauma centers (Grady Memorial Hospital), providing remote or onsite interpretations overnight in conjunction with trainees. The primary clinical scope will involve trauma imaging (CT and XR), with additional non-trauma ED imaging to be interpreted as time permits. We promote a hybrid of both on-site and remote work.   Candidates should have a demonstrated career interest in Emergency Imaging, possess strong clinical skills, highly function in the fast-paced, time-sensitive emergency setting and work well in a collaborative environment. The Division operates 24/7/365.   Candidates should be prepared to participate in both the clinical and non-clinical divisional activities, including education and trainee supervision. Fellows in this program will learn to diagnose all types of inflammatory eye conditions, including infectious and non-infectious uveitis (anterior, intermediate, posterior, and panuveitis), scleritis, keratitis, and ocular pemphigoid. This will involve becoming proficient in a variety of ocular imaging modalities – particularly OCT, OCT-angiography, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, and ultrasonography. Fellows will become comfortable in prescribing and managing systemic immunomodulatory therapies and the use of local corticosteroid injections. Based on the fellows’ interests, opportunities will be made available to participate in uveitic cataract surgeries and/or surgical glaucoma management.

Our residents receive graduated levels of supervision and autonomy as they progress from optometric primary clinical care into the more advanced sub-specialty care ophthalmology clinics such as Glaucoma, Cornea, Neuro-ophthalmic Disease, and Retina, while working alongside ophthalmology residents in various acute care, ambulatory, and in-patient clinical settings. 

The objectives and goals of the ASOPRS fellowship at Emory University, School of Medicine are to train a professional, ethical, and outstanding academic oculoplastic and orbital surgeon. The principal goal of the fellowship is to prepare trainees to become outstanding glaucoma specialists and anterior segment surgeons in either an academic or community setting. Graduates will gain the ability to not only assess and diagnose the various glaucomatous diseases, but to develop appropriate and effective medical and surgical treatment plans as well. 

The candidate will be study factors that regulate mitochondrial priming and its role in therapeutic responses in multiple myeloma. Studies will be mechanistic in nature but with a goal for translating to developing novel treatment approaches in this disease. The Atlanta Long COVID Collaborative is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position through the Emory University School of Medicine Department of Medicine. This position is funded by the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and is renewable on an annual basis depending on performance. The fellowship provides training through applied mixed methods design, health surveillance data analysis and dissemination, and practical experience working with local and national Long COVID patient advocates and community partners to support a mission to improve access to coordinated person-centered Long COVID healthcare. The post-doctoral fellow would have access to many opportunities to engage with multidisciplinary team of faculty within Emory School of Medicine, including subject matter experts in the fields of Pulmonology/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine, Cardiology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Neuropsychology, Psychology, General Medicine, and Geriatrics.
