The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision and mentorship of Drs. Woods-Jaeger to support two research projects and one course development: • Youth Participatory Action Research to Prevent Community Violence among Black Youth (YPAR as Violence Prevention) • Evaluating Economic Security Policies to Prevent Firearm-Related Violence and Injuries among Black Youth (Economic Policy to Prevent Firearm Violence) • Community Based Participatory Action Research for Injury and Violence Prevention (CBPAR Course)   Duties: Duties will include the development and execution of qualitative research protocols for the Economic Policy to Prevent Firearm Violence study. The postdoctoral fellow will work with the research coordinator for the study to recruit and schedule interviews as well as the day-to-day operations of the semi-structured interviews, including consenting and enrolling participants. The postdoctoral fellow will coordinate and supervise student interviewers and qualitative data analysts. For the YPAR as Violence Prevention study they will support implementation of the YEAH intervention and be responsible for co-facilitating YEAH groups, assisting in data collection, presenting preliminary findings to the Community Action Board for feedback, and supervising MPH student interns coding and analyzing of the qualitative data for YEAH photovoice projects under the supervision of Dr. Woods-Jaeger. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in the preparation of manuscripts and reports under the supervision of Drs. Woods-Jaeger for both studies and have the opportunity to develop and edit sections of grant proposals and manuscripts related to future directions from these studies. The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Woods-Jaeger to develop and then co-teach Community Based Participatory Action Research for Injury and Violence Prevention course in the Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences department.   Training: The postdoctoral fellow will be trained by Dr. Woods-Jaeger in youth participatory action research. This will include learning key principles and their application within existing projects as well as specific participatory research techniques such as photovoice. Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Emory University School of Medicine are conducting a search for an outstanding psychologist with specialization in pediatric psychology to provide clinical care and support in the Severe Behavior Program.  Specifically, we are seeking a psychologist who will join our team of psychologists and BCBA-Ds in the Severe Behavior Program serving children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or a related developmental disability. We are seeking applicants who will work in both the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Outpatient Programs (OP).  IOP provides behavioral intervention to children who engage in severe challenging behavior. Children seen in IOP attend 5-days/week, 5 hours/day for an average of 16 weeks. Each child is staffed at a 3:1 ratio, allowing for a high level of precision in the behavioral assessments and treatments conducted. The program also emphasizes caregiver training and development of socially valid interventions. A range of outpatient programs provide care to children who engage in mild to moderate challenging behavior. OP see patients once a week and focuses on caregiver training. Most OP services are provided for 12 weeks, but can be longer or shorter depending on how the child responds to treatment.  We are looking for individuals who are interested in providing a high level of clinical care and who are interested in contributing to innovative assessment, treatment, and research activities.   The psychologist will join a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes professionals from nursing, psychiatry and care coordination. Intervention focuses on the use of applied behavior analysis for the assessment and treatment of severe behavior problems. This position will support a clinical caseload that includes case management for patients in IOP, conducting evaluations, providing direct services through our outpatient clinics and supervision of psychology trainees. There will also be opportunities for independent and/or collaborative research – contributing to a research team that has several ongoing clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and single-case design studies underway.   Successful candidates will be well-trained and should possess a PhD and be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral level (BCBA-D). Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program in psychology, completion of an APA-accredited internship, and completion of postdoctoral fellowship is preferred. Responsibilities of working as a psychiatrist at the Grady Behavioral Health clinic include but are not limited to:   Time commitment – The expectation for this position includes weekly clinical hours (including direct patient care, coordination of care, and team meetings) at Project ARROW (Achieving Recovery through Resilience, Optimism, and Wellness) and the forthcoming Clinical High Risk for Psychosis Program.  The position also includes weekly administrative hours.    Patient Evaluation and Management- This includes a working knowledge and ability to implement evidence-based practices of medication management, ordering tests or labs as needed, making referrals, and being responsive to patient requests outside of appointments with voicemail. The Center for Behavioral and Mental Health at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine, are expanding mental health services for medically complex children. We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with experience in treating eating disorders in children and adolescents as well as their families. This position is eligible for a faculty appointment through the Emory University School of Medicine, if desired. - The psychologist will work within the Children’s general outpatient clinic as well as possibly within a medical stabilization inpatient service. Within these environments, evidence-based evaluation and treatment of a diverse population of children is provided for a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, atypical anorexia, and avoidant /restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). - The psychologist will participate in program development and lead a combination of individual, family, and group therapy treatment. The psychologist will independently perform procedures, collect and analyze clinical data, and make decisions regarding patient care (e.g., initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis). - Psychologists work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, behavioral and mental health therapists (LCSWs and LPCs), and nurse case managers to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each patient. - Psychologists participate in the training of psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows as well other behavioral mental health trainees. The psychologist may also provide supervision and leadership for master’s level clinicians within the eating disorders program. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have joint appointments in the Departments of Pediatrics at Emory and Morehouse Schools of Medicine.   Job Duties and Responsibilities   - Conduct state-of-the-art research applicable to curative therapies for sickle cell disease and other hematological disorders. - Partner with the Aflac Sickle Cell Disease Program Director and translational and clinical research leaders to integrate the research and clinical components of the Sickle Cell Disease Program of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. - Provide academic leadership and professional mentorship for faculty, fellows, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and students focused on hematopoiesis, stem cell biology and sickle cell disease pathophysiology. - Lead the Atlanta Sickle Cell Disease Consortium of basic science researchers and expand and strengthen collaborations with investigators from other divisions and departments at Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Morehouse School of Medicine, with the goal of building a nationally pre-eminent sickle cell disease program. The Computational Mechanisms of Psychopathology Lab (COMPLab; PI: Vanessa Brown, PhD) is recruiting for a postdoctoral fellow to join the lab. Research in the lab uses behavioral tasks (administered in-lab and remotely), functional and structural imaging, computational modeling, and mechanistic interventions (brief psychotherapy, neuromodulation) to investigate learning alterations in anxiety and related disorders.  This position is ideal for someone with a background in some combination of behavior/learning theory approaches to anxiety, computational modeling of behavior, and fMRI analysis; and who wishes to gain or deepen expertise in these areas. The Division of Pediatric Neurology, Department of Pediatrics, with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) is looking for an Epilepsy Program Director to join our academic/clinical team at an Associate Professor/Professor level.   The successful candidate will be a key leader in our Epilepsy Center, overseeing our epilepsy and neurophysiology programs, with a keen eye for quality and future program growth as well as an interest in epilepsy clinical research. Epileptologists participate in the teaching of neurology residents and epilepsy fellows as well as staffing a 12 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Fast Access Neurology clinics and reading LTVM/EEG studies. Children’s Epilepsy Program has several epilepsy subspecialty clinical programs including ketogenic diet, genetic epilepsy, infantile spasms/epileptic encephalopathy, psychogenic non epileptic events (PNEE) and epilepsy surgery. The Pediatric Neurosciences Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is ranked 1st in the Southeast and one of the top 20 programs in the USA by USN&WR. Job Description: Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Musculoskeletal Division is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position.    Emory’s Musculoskeletal Division consists of 8 full and part-time faculty members who provide specialized MSK diagnostic and interventional services to several hospital and clinic sites including the Emory MSK Institute, Emory University Midtown Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.  Faculty are actively involved in strong intra- and interdepartmental research collaborations and are committed to educating our 5 MSK fellows and residents (one of the largest programs in the country).   Diagnostic responsibilities include subspecialty interpretations of MSK MRI, CT, ultrasound and radiographs.  Spine imaging interpretation is shared between the neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology. We interpret imaging for many of the Atlanta-area professional and collegiate sports teams and commonly collaborate with our orthopedic surgeons including orthopedic oncology, non-operative sports medicine physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and rheumatologists. We participate in interdisciplinary conferences including sarcoma tumor board, peripheral nerve, rheumatology, and arthroscopic-imaging correlation conferences.   Experience in standard interventional MSK procedures is preferred, which include fluoroscopic/ultrasound guided joint injection/aspiration, CT and ultrasound guided biopsies, spine and peripheral nerve injections.     Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be ABR Board-certified/eligible, subspecialty certified or eligible, completed a musculoskeletal fellowship at an accredited program, and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license.
