With Children’s large catchment area, the patient population is racially and ethnically diverse (30% African American, 4% Asian, 15% Hispanic), socioeconomically diverse, and draws patients from the metropolitan Atlanta area and rural areas across Georgia (30% rural).   This candidate will have the opportunity to work with our multi-disciplinary team in oncology and the survivor program on projects designed to improve patient care and outcomes through patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research, as well as with national survivor cooperative groups (Childhood Cancer Survivor Study and Children’s Oncology Group.)   This position will allow collaborations with the Rollins School of Public Health, affiliations with the neighboring American Cancer Society, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, offering a wealth of opportunities for research collaborations. This position will also be in conjunction with the Winship Cancer Institute, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at Emory University. Candidates will be expected to qualify for membership in the Cancer Prevention and Control research program, one of four research programs in the cancer center (www.winshipcancer.emory.edu), with members conducting research in cancer epidemiology, biomarkers, and chemoprevention; health behavior research; symptom management and control; and health outcomes and quality of care.   Requirements: Candidates would require a PhD and strong record of scholarship, and a successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively conducting nationally recognized pediatric cancer outcomes research. Responsibilities of working as a psychiatrist at the Grady Behavioral Health clinic include but are not limited to:   Time commitment – The expectation for this position includes weekly clinical hours (including direct patient care, coordination of care, and team meetings) at Project ARROW (Achieving Recovery through Resilience, Optimism, and Wellness) and the forthcoming Clinical High Risk for Psychosis Program.  The position also includes weekly administrative hours.    Patient Evaluation and Management- This includes a working knowledge and ability to implement evidence-based practices of medication management, ordering tests or labs as needed, making referrals, and being responsive to patient requests outside of appointments with voicemail. You should also be able to work with the family in collaboration with the patient about plan for treatment.  There is also a focus on engaging patients in treatment.    Supervision and teaching of residents- This includes staffing patients with the residents, offering teaching and guidance about management, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and documentation.   Participation and attendance in treatment team meetings and staff meetings - This includes the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with other members of the care team to develop treatment plans and discuss progress toward goals.   Documentation – This includes not only effectively utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) for completing a note for a patient visit but using the EMR for ordering medication, communicating with other providers within the system, and cosigning notes for the trainees or midlevel providers.  Additionally, the expectation is to document in a timely fashion and with appropriate knowledge of billing requirements for the type of visit, type of insurance, and level of service provided. 

DLITE VS/iKnow Study is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Fellow to join our team and contribute to qualitative research efforts in the field of HIV. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting and leading qualitative sub-studies, analyzing data, publishing results in peer-reviewed journals, and applying theoretical models to qualitative findings.   Project Description: iKnow is an NIH-funded study that aims to advance understanding of the reasons people living with HIV lose, gain or sustain viral suppression in key groups and inform the development and targeting of interventions to minimize time spent without viral suppression. The study will enroll a diverse cohort of 2,000 people (1,500 MSM and 500 transfeminine people) living with HIV infection in the US through virtual recruitment and follow each participant using limited interaction methods for 24 months; collect data on care engagement and viral load, multilevel predictors of care engagement and viral suppression, experiences of stigma in and outside of healthcare settings, care seeking behaviors, substance use, and sexual practices; use purposive qualitative interviewing and multilevel modeling to understand the factors associated with gaining or losing viral suppression and how those factors differ for key subgroups of PLWH; and, in collaboration with the CDC, use mailed self-collected blood specimens to assess acceptability and feasibility of remote monitoring of HIV viral load as well as the potential impact of more frequent HIV viral load monitoring on reducing HIV transmission.   Preferred Qualifications: 1. A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant field such as sociology, psychology, public health, or related disciplines. 2. Demonstrated experience conducting and leading qualitative research studies, preferably in the field of HIV or related areas. 3. The Center for Behavioral and Mental Health at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine, are expanding mental health services for medically complex children. We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with experience in treating eating disorders in children and adolescents as well as their families. This position is eligible for a faculty appointment through the Emory University School of Medicine, if desired. - The psychologist will work within the Children’s general outpatient clinic as well as possibly within a medical stabilization inpatient service. Within these environments, evidence-based evaluation and treatment of a diverse population of children is provided for a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, atypical anorexia, and avoidant /restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). - The psychologist will participate in program development and lead a combination of individual, family, and group therapy treatment. The psychologist will independently perform procedures, collect and analyze clinical data, and make decisions regarding patient care (e.g., initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis). - Psychologists work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, behavioral and mental health therapists (LCSWs and LPCs), and nurse case managers to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each patient. - Psychologists participate in the training of psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows as well other behavioral mental health trainees. The psychologist may also provide supervision and leadership for master’s level clinicians within the eating disorders program. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience. The Computational Mechanisms of Psychopathology Lab (COMPLab; PI: Vanessa Brown, PhD) is recruiting for a postdoctoral fellow to join the lab. Research in the lab uses behavioral tasks (administered in-lab and remotely), functional and structural imaging, computational modeling, and mechanistic interventions (brief psychotherapy, neuromodulation) to investigate learning alterations in anxiety and related disorders.  This position is ideal for someone with a background in some combination of behavior/learning theory approaches to anxiety, computational modeling of behavior, and fMRI analysis; and who wishes to gain or deepen expertise in these areas. The Division of Pediatric Neurology, Department of Pediatrics, with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) is looking for an Epilepsy Program Director to join our academic/clinical team at an Associate Professor/Professor level.   The successful candidate will be a key leader in our Epilepsy Center, overseeing our epilepsy and neurophysiology programs, with a keen eye for quality and future program growth as well as an interest in epilepsy clinical research. Epileptologists participate in the teaching of neurology residents and epilepsy fellows as well as staffing a 12 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Fast Access Neurology clinics and reading LTVM/EEG studies. Children’s Epilepsy Program has several epilepsy subspecialty clinical programs including ketogenic diet, genetic epilepsy, infantile spasms/epileptic encephalopathy, psychogenic non epileptic events (PNEE) and epilepsy surgery. The Pediatric Neurosciences Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is ranked 1st in the Southeast and one of the top 20 programs in the USA by USN&WR. Job Description: Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Musculoskeletal Division is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position.    Emory’s Musculoskeletal Division consists of 8 full and part-time faculty members who provide specialized MSK diagnostic and interventional services to several hospital and clinic sites including the Emory MSK Institute, Emory University Midtown Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.  Faculty are actively involved in strong intra- and interdepartmental research collaborations and are committed to educating our 5 MSK fellows and residents (one of the largest programs in the country).   Diagnostic responsibilities include subspecialty interpretations of MSK MRI, CT, ultrasound and radiographs.  Spine imaging interpretation is shared between the neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology. We interpret imaging for many of the Atlanta-area professional and collegiate sports teams and commonly collaborate with our orthopedic surgeons including orthopedic oncology, non-operative sports medicine physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and rheumatologists. The candidate will design, carry out and analyze experiments as part of projects leading all work under the supervision of the PI. The expectation will be for daily communication with the PI to discuss the results of experiments and plan the next steps of the projects. Based on experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and virology taking on projects relevant to these topics but will also learn new techniques to implement in all projects. Additional expectations include participation in weekly meetings in the lab, one-on-one meeting with the PI and group meetings with collaborators (in person and via zoom) when the topic is relevant to the assigned projects. Presentation of data in lab meetings and journal clubs and will assist in preparing figures for manuscripts and presentations based on all work. Expectation to help train undergraduate students or other lab members in techniques if sufficiently proficient. In addition, the candidate will contribute to lab tasks, like all lab members, and will help the lab operate in a well-organized manner.   A BS in biology or relevant area with experience in a laboratory setting for at least two years. Experience in molecular biology and cell culture techniques are preferred qualifications.
