The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics invites interested applicants for a faculty position in the Pediatric Cancer Outcomes Program. We are seeking strong epidemiology candidates in the areas of pediatric cancer outcomes research and public health-related research methodologies. This position is an important component of the Center’s strategic plan for a robust clinical research program, and represents the next step in the expansion of a world-class Pediatric Cancer Outcomes Program.   About the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center provides a rich and collaborative environment for clinical research, with a well-funded Clinical Research Office. The successful candidate will join one of the strongest pediatric cancer outcomes programs in the country. - Established in 2001, our cancer survivor program follows over 1700 pediatric and adolescent cancer survivors and comprises a multi-disciplinary team including oncologists, endocrinologist, psychologists, advanced practice providers, genetic counselors, nursing, and social work. - Our cancer outcomes research team consists of nationally prominent members from a variety of disciplines including: pediatric oncology, behavioral science, endocrinology, nursing, health services research, and a committed team of epidemiologists and research assistants. - Established cancer survivor research areas include: communication/perceptions, cardiovascular, mental health, transition of care, sexual health, health policy and economics, eHealth, healthcare disparities, late effects of new anti-cancer therapies, and cancer care delivery. - Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta—the only tertiary pediatric center in the dynamic metropolitan Atlanta area—serves a population of nearly 9 million people. With Children’s large catchment area, the patient population is racially and ethnically diverse (30% African American, 4% Asian, 15% Hispanic), socioeconomically diverse, and draws patients from the metropolitan Atlanta area and rural areas across Georgia (30% rural).   This candidate will have the opportunity to work with our multi-disciplinary team in oncology and the survivor program on projects designed to improve patient care and outcomes through patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research, as well as with national survivor cooperative groups (Childhood Cancer Survivor Study and Children’s Oncology Group.)   This position will allow collaborations with the Rollins School of Public Health, affiliations with the neighboring American Cancer Society, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, offering a wealth of opportunities for research collaborations. This position will also be in conjunction with the Winship Cancer Institute, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at Emory University. Candidates will be expected to qualify for membership in the Cancer Prevention and Control research program, one of four research programs in the cancer center (www.winshipcancer.emory.edu), with members conducting research in cancer epidemiology, biomarkers, and chemoprevention; health behavior research; symptom management and control; and health outcomes and quality of care.   Requirements: Candidates would require a PhD and strong record of scholarship, and a successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively conducting nationally recognized pediatric cancer outcomes research. You should also be able to work with the family in collaboration with the patient about plan for treatment.  There is also a focus on engaging patients in treatment.    Supervision and teaching of residents- This includes staffing patients with the residents, offering teaching and guidance about management, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and documentation.   Participation and attendance in treatment team meetings and staff meetings - This includes the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with other members of the care team to develop treatment plans and discuss progress toward goals.   Documentation – This includes not only effectively utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) for completing a note for a patient visit but using the EMR for ordering medication, communicating with other providers within the system, and cosigning notes for the trainees or midlevel providers.  Additionally, the expectation is to document in a timely fashion and with appropriate knowledge of billing requirements for the type of visit, type of insurance, and level of service provided.

DLITE VS/iKnow Study is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Fellow to join our team and contribute to qualitative research efforts in the field of HIV. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting and leading qualitative sub-studies, analyzing data, publishing results in peer-reviewed journals, and applying theoretical models to qualitative findings.   Project Description: iKnow is an NIH-funded study that aims to advance understanding of the reasons people living with HIV lose, gain or sustain viral suppression in key groups and inform the development and targeting of interventions to minimize time spent without viral suppression. The study will enroll a diverse cohort of 2,000 people (1,500 MSM and 500 transfeminine people) living with HIV infection in the US through virtual recruitment and follow each participant using limited interaction methods for 24 months; collect data on care engagement and viral load, multilevel predictors of care engagement and viral suppression, experiences of stigma in and outside of healthcare settings, care seeking behaviors, substance use, and sexual practices; use purposive qualitative interviewing and multilevel modeling to understand the factors associated with gaining or losing viral suppression and how those factors differ for key subgroups of PLWH; and, in collaboration with the CDC, use mailed self-collected blood specimens to assess acceptability and feasibility of remote monitoring of HIV viral load as well as the potential impact of more frequent HIV viral load monitoring on reducing HIV transmission.   Preferred Qualifications: 1. A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant field such as sociology, psychology, public health, or related disciplines. 2. Demonstrated experience conducting and leading qualitative research studies, preferably in the field of HIV or related areas. 3. Proven track record of publishing qualitative research findings in peer-reviewed journals. 4. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in qualitative data analysis software. 5. Experience applying theoretical models and frameworks to qualitative research. 6. Familiarity with mixed-methods research designs and quantitative data analysis techniques. 7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex findings to diverse audiences. 8. The Center for Behavioral and Mental Health at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine, are expanding mental health services for medically complex children. We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with experience in treating eating disorders in children and adolescents as well as their families. This position is eligible for a faculty appointment through the Emory University School of Medicine, if desired. - The psychologist will work within the Children’s general outpatient clinic as well as possibly within a medical stabilization inpatient service. Within these environments, evidence-based evaluation and treatment of a diverse population of children is provided for a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, atypical anorexia, and avoidant /restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). - The psychologist will participate in program development and lead a combination of individual, family, and group therapy treatment. The psychologist will independently perform procedures, collect and analyze clinical data, and make decisions regarding patient care (e.g., initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis). - Psychologists work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, behavioral and mental health therapists (LCSWs and LPCs), and nurse case managers to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each patient. - Psychologists participate in the training of psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows as well other behavioral mental health trainees. The psychologist may also provide supervision and leadership for master’s level clinicians within the eating disorders program. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our community across our clinical, educational, and research missions.   Job Description: The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University seeks a full-time Radiologist for a combined position within both the Division of Community Radiology Specialists and the Abdominal Imaging Division. This position will primarily provide coverage for Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory Decatur Hospital, and Emory Hillandale Hospital along with multiple outpatient imaging centers.   The position is for a fellowship-trained Abdominal Imager with a general and diverse skill set. The position offers a rewarding sub-specialty focus (which can be tailored to the candidate’s interests) within a multi-specialty practice setting. We promote a hybrid of both on-site and remote work. There are opportunities for both a traditional academic schedule (with 20% academic time), or for a clinically focused position without academic time at a higher salary level.   Emory University School of Medicine, a premier academic radiology department, encourages educational, teaching, scientific and research interests based on candidate interest.   Minimum Qualifications Applicants must be ABR Board-certified/eligible, fellowship-trained from an accredited program, and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license.
