The Emory University School of Medicine/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition is seeking exceptional physicians for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.   With planning for a new 430+ bed hospital to open in September 2024 we are seeking to expand our team. Children’s is in the midst of building a state-of-the-art 1.5 million-square foot Arthur M. Blank Hospital slated to open next fall. This will enable a single campus in the heart of Atlanta for outpatient and inpatient specialty care, endoscopy, liver transplant, and research coordination.   We are seeking applicants with experience and interests in:      - General Gastroenterology - Intestinal Rehabilitation, Multi-Visceral Transplant and Nutrition - Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders   The position includes both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as teaching colleagues, fellows, residents, and medical students.  The Division is actively engaged in a wide variety of clinical/research programs including: aerodigestive, eosinophilic GI diseases, IBD, intestinal rehabilitation, weight/wellness, feeding, autism, fatty liver disease, cholestatic and genetic liver diseases, biliary atresia, endoscopy/advanced endoscopy, pancreatic disorders, and liver transplant.    The Division includes 18 clinical faculty, 2 Clinical Psychologists, and 6 research PhDs. The Waller lab in the Winship Cancer Institute, Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology, is seeking a post-doctoral researcher for in vitro and in vivo (mouse) studies in the area of CAR-T cell cancer therapies. The post-doc will be responsible for cell preparation for in vivo studies and will assist with tumor implantation, cell administration and conduct of immunologic analysis and T cell assays. Emory’s Department of Radiation Oncology serves multiple clinical institutions in the Atlanta metropolitan area, including Emory University Hospital Clifton, Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown, Emory Proton Therapy Center, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Grady Hospital, and Emory Decatur Hospital. It is an integral part of Winship, a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The newest practice sites include the Emory Proton Therapy Center, which opened in late 2018 and offers pencil beam scanning, and the new Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown facility which offers a unique setting of multidisciplinary care delivery. The department treats over 4,000 patients annually. Highlights of the technology offered include 8 Varian™ linear accelerators, 1 Halcyon™ unit, 2 Elekta™ linear accelerators, a multi-room proton center, Gamma Knife®, Zeiss IntraBeam® intraoperative unit, multiple brachytherapy HDR afterloaders, large bore CT scanners with 4D capabilities, and access to MR and PET scanners including two dedicated 1.5 T MRI scanners. All linear accelerators are IGRT (2D, 3D) and respiratory motion management equipped. The oncology information system is ARIA® with treatment planning systems including Eclipse™ and RayStation©. Emory physics faculty also participate in Georgia Institute of Technology’s medical physics education and research programs. Postdoctoral Fellow Position – AI and Medical Image Analysis in Prostate/Kidney Cancer   JOB DESCRIPTION: The Postdoctoral Fellow will help design and conduct research in AI & machine learning for medicine while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of an Academic career. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment including biomedical engineers and expert clinicians (urologists, radiologists, pathologists) to conduct research in AI/ML methods to solve unmet clinical needs in prostate and kidney cancer. They will assist the PI in designing and evaluating experiments for research focused on new AI and machine learning tools for the diagnosis, prognosis and prediction of treatment response for a number of types of cancer and other diseases. The Postdoctoral fellow will also develop new ideas that promote current research and prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be responsible for operation of specific computational equipment. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. The Postdoctoral Fellow receives training under close supervision of faculty in the Emory University, School of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Engineering.   Interested candidates should ideally have a background in artificial intelligence/computer vision/machine learning programming, ideally with either Python or MATLAB. Staff will be working on development of image analytic/machine learning algorithms for clinical applications. Additional experience with C++, JAVA, R is a plus. • Publications in journals and conferences in the related areas is highly desirable. The position requires strong experience in chikungunya virus, SARS-CoV-2, norovirus, yellow fever virus or emerging viruses virology research. Specifically, cell culture techniques with replication-competent virus, or replicon systems, drug screening and determination of EC50, and CC50 values, stable or transiently-transfected cell lines, characterization of mechanism of action of novel antiviral compounds, generation and characterization of mutant viruses, virus infectivity, viral replication in culture, selection of compensatory and drug resistant mutations, and demonstrated ability to relate experimental results to available structural data. The ideal candidate will possess additional experience with in vitro protein characterization, using recombinant protein expression and purification from E. coli, and enzymatic assays. The successful candidate will have significant experience in training and leading a team of technicians, graduate and undergraduate students to design projects and troubleshoot problems in experimental techniques. The candidate is expected to have a strong publication record as demonstrated by publication in high-impact journals. Required Qualifications: • A PhD with post-graduate training in virology • Demonstrated experience as a research project lead with supervisory skills • Experience managing collaborative projects among multiple laboratories • Experience writing research proposals and manuscripts for publication • Experience in a viral infection and replication assays in BSL2 and BSL3 facilities • Experience in molecular biology techniques Preferred Qualifications: • Demonstrated high productivity and successful record publishing in high impact journals • Experience in antiviral drug discovery and development • Experience with the biotech/pharma industry landscape • A demonstrated track record of effectively using quantitative approaches to biological problems • Experience teaching, mentoring, and advising students and trainees   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Psychiatrist Job Description   The Emory Clinic is seeking a clinical psychiatrist to join its integrated mental health team. Our clinicians, educators and researchers provide high quality care in the innovative environment of the Emory Brain Health Center. The qualified candidate will serve as a full-time attending in the adult outpatient program of Emory Clinic. Our psychiatric outpatient clinic primarily treats patients with mood and anxiety disorders, often collaborating with our Neurology colleagues to support the mental health of patients with CNS disorders. In addition to providing excellent clinical care, the candidate will contribute to the development of evidence-based and specialty treatment programs, participate in the education of Emory Psychiatry residents, and support  the administrative processes of the department. There are opportunities to participate in research in the clinic as well as quality improvement initiatives.   This full time position provides approximately one full day per week without direct patient care responsibilities to allow the attending to address administration and academic interests. As a member of the Department of Psychiatry Faculty, the attending will be responsible for sharing on-call coverage of the inpatient services at Emory Wesley Wood Hospital and telephonic support of other behavioral health specialists at Emory. This is a position of open academic rank.
