ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: Professor Yang Liu’s group is seeking two full-time postdoctoral research fellows to take part in a variety of federally funded projects to conduct large scale, long-term exposure modeling and assess the health impacts of climate change related environmental risk factors. Dr. Liu’s research interests include satellite aerosol retrieval and product design, applications of satellite remote sensing in exposure modeling and environmental epidemiological research, potential impacts of global climate change on public health, GIS, spatial statistics and machine learning. These positions will engage in all aspects of research including data access and processing, exposure model development, epidemiological model development, analyzing and interpreting results, and preparing technical reports, manuscripts and conference presentations. These individuals will receive mentoring and direct guidance from Dr. Liu and other GDEH faculty members to identify research opportunities, prepare proposals for new extramural funding, and advance his/her career in academic research. This is a grant-funded, 12-month appointment and potentially renewable for two more years provided funding availability. We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled physician to lead our nation's largest inpatient pediatric cardiology unit. As the director, you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of cardiac disease states, including acute and chronic conditions in pediatric patients. This will involve overseeing the care of medical patients with cardiovascular diseases, as well as pre-operative and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgical patients.   In addition to providing clinical care, you will play a vital role in establishing a strategic plan for our acute care unit. This will involve collaborating with other services, such as cardiac surgery, nursing, and respiratory therapy, to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients. Experience with heated high flow nasal cannula initiation and titration is preferred. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, from admission to ongoing diagnostic and therapeutic management, to discharging a wide spectrum of patients. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Cardiology and the Heart Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University School of Medicine, is seeking to hire a non-invasive imaging pediatric cardiologist to join our team of dedicated imaging physicians. The position requires expertise in all facets of echocardiography with particular emphasis on transthoracic and transesophageal imaging. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply. The candidate will join the division of pediatric cardiology of Emory University School of Medicine, with 57 faculty members led by Dr. William Mahle.   Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is the largest pediatric referral center in the Southeast, with 550 pediatric beds, and 1,400 pediatric general and specialist healthcare providers. The pediatric cardiac program at Emory is one of the largest in the United States, performing over 800 cardiac surgeries each year. Emory has large pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship programs, with five categorical fellows per year in addition to advanced training programs in imaging, catheterization, electrophysiology, intensive care, and heart failure. Our cardiac program has been consistently ranked as a top program nationally in US News and World Report.   The cardiac program performs more than 40,000 transthoracic and 650 transesophageal echocardiograms annually. The fetal cardiac program has a broad referral base and performs more than 2,500 fetal echocardiograms per year. Echo research support is provided by the cardiac imaging research core (CIRC), which includes research coordinators and statistical support, as well as core lab facilities for both echo and MRI studies.   The candidate should have completed categorical fellowship as well as advanced imaging training and be BC/BE in pediatric cardiology. The division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) and Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric heart failure and transplant cardiologist to join our faculty and Advanced Cardiac Therapies team.   Job Description   The Orthopedics Department, Division of Sports Medicine at Emory University is recruiting a full-time, non-operative sports medicine physician to join the rapidly expanding Orthopedic and Sports Medicine service line.  Candidates must have completed an ACGME Sports Medicine Fellowship and be board-eligible or certified in Sports Medicine. The Marcus laboratory at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is searching for an applicant with expertise in cell biology and/or cancer biology. Our laboratory had developed a cell biology approach to extract genomic information from rare cancer cells, and apply this technique to study cancer metastasis and tumor heterogeneity (publications in Nature Communications, Science Advances, and Clinical Cancer Research). HEALTH SERVICE PSYCHOLOGY – CLINICAL HEALTH PSYCHOLOGIST   The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is accepting applications for a Clinical Health Psychologist position, open academic rank. Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately and will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled. The successful candidate will provide brief assessments, consults, and psychotherapy (individual, group, couple/family) for adults with medical and psychological concerns. Much of the work for this position will be completed in the Paul W. Seavey Comprehensive Internal Medicine Clinic and potentially other general medical clinics. The psychologist should have experience in treating psychological conditions such as anxiety and depression and assisting in the behavioral and psychosocial management of a range of medical diseases (e.g., diabetes, obesity, tobacco cessation) and related problems (e.g., pain, insomnia). There also will be a focus on helping people with lifestyle changes related to healthy eating, exercise, and substance use, as well as assisting people in coping with major life stresses. Teaching and supervising trainees is expected as part of the position. Additional Details   Applicants should have a strong background in clinical health psychology and integrated care with medically ill populations. They must have a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, an APA accredited internship, and at least one-year supervised postdoctoral training. The individual must be licensed or license eligible in Georgia. Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology is required within 7 years of starting this faculty position.

The Department of Surgery of Emory University at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, is actively seeking two qualified academic Burn Surgeons to join a busy American Burn Association verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Unit at Grady Memorial Hospital.  The entire burn team participates actively in multi-specialty research endeavors and many are generously supported with funds for conference presentation and attendance.   Grady’s Burn Unit admits over 700 patients a year, including adult and pediatric patients, in a contemporary facility that provides comprehensive burn care.  We are a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, Emory and Morehouse general and plastic surgery residents, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists and other ancillary staff. It is the only burn center in Georgia backed by a Level I Trauma Center (the Trauma Center admits about 4500 patients a year). The Heart Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University School of Medicine, is seeking to expand our Cardiac ICU faculty by adding two pediatric cardiac intensivists to join our team of 13 cardiac intensivists at the assistant or associate professor level. The candidate will join the division of Pediatric Cardiology of Emory University School of Medicine, with more than 50 faculty members led by Dr. William Mahle and Dr. Paul Chai.   Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is the largest pediatric referral center in the Southeast, with 550 pediatric beds, and 1,400 pediatric general and specialist healthcare providers. The pediatric cardiac program at Emory is one of the largest in the United States, performing more than 800 cardiac surgeries each year.   The dedicated Cardiac ICU is a 32-bed unit with over 1000 annual admissions and is complemented by a cardiac step-down unit with an additional 35 beds. The Cardiac ICU will expand to 36 beds in September 2024 when we will be moving into a brand new facility, The Arthur M Blank Children’s Hospital. The division of pediatric cardiology provides cardiac care for the vast majority of the children in the state of Georgia, with a catchment population of approximately 10 million. The heart transplant program, one of the busiest in the nation, has performed over 350 pediatric heart transplants to date, and is an important component of the ICU that includes a busy heart failure and VAD service.   The cardiac research enterprise includes clinical research, a cardiac outcomes center, and basic science research. Pediatric cardiac device development and use of innovative technologies occurs through our research partnership with Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University.   Candidates should have completed training and be BC/BE in pediatric cardiology, or pediatric critical care with additional training completed in pediatric cardiac intensive care, or dual Cardiology/Critical Care training. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department of Radiation Oncology of the Emory University School of Medicine is recruiting for two physicians at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Professor level for positions at our large new Winship Tower recently opened in Midtown Atlanta to deliver multidisciplinary oncology care. Candidates for the position should have completed an accredited residency and be Board Certified or in the process of becoming Board Certified in Radiation Oncology through the American Board of Radiology. Candidates should ideally have a strong interest in research, including clinical trials, health services/outcomes/policy research, translational biology, or physics research. A commitment to residency education, the multi-disciplinary care of cancer patients, and quality and equity of care delivery are essential. These positions are tenure eligible. One position will focus primarily on a service delivering care for breast cancer and the other on a service delivering care for genitourinary/prostate cancer, including brachytherapy.    The Department of Radiation Oncology has a tripartite mission of providing outstanding patient and family-centered medical care, educating the next generation of cancer caregivers and researchers, and executing paradigm-defining cancer research.
