The Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is looking for a qualified Medical Doctor who is interested in advanced breast / surgical oncology training.  Applicants of the 2023 Surgical Fellowship Match must submit job applications using the Emory Careers Website. The Emory University Fellowship programs were created to foster the development of high quality fellowships included but not limited to General/GI, Oncology, Transplant, Plastics, Trauma/Surgical Care, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. This is a non-ACGME fellowship position overseen by Cletus Arciero, MD.    The mission of the Society of Surgical Oncology-approved, one-year Emory Breast Oncology Fellowship is to teach evidence-based clinical care, encourage inquiry with a research-focused approach, develop leadership skills for future career opportunities and growth, and produce graduates that will become leaders in academic breast surgery and continue the international excellence that has distinguished the current program.   The program accepts two fellows per year, who train at Emory University Hospital, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, AVON Comprehensive Breast Center at Grady Memorial Hospital, and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Upon the completion of training, fellows will have the skills necessary to apply an integrated interdisciplinary approach to the management of women with benign and malignant breast diseases in a comprehensive and compassionate manner.   Applicants must have completed a general surgery residency and American Board of Surgery eligibility. Two fellows are selected per year and interviews are scheduled for the Fall preceding the match year. The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine is currently accepting applications for up to four, 1-year Fellowship positions in Advanced Pelvic Surgery which begins in July 2023. The Fellowship in Advanced Pelvic Surgery at Emory University provides postgraduate Obstetrician-Gynecologists the opportunity to develop advanced surgical expertise working side-by-side with the Division’s team of gynecologic oncologists who perform a broad range of abdominal, vaginal, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, including robotic procedures. The majority of the fellow’s time would be devoted to the completion of training in Advanced Pelvic Surgery including the management of complex surgical cases on the Gynecologic Oncology Service. Fellows will also participate in a full range of outpatient clinical activities and share in weekend and holiday call responsibilities. The Fellows will receive clinical and surgical training and provide inpatient and outpatient services at Emory University Hospitals, Clinics, Grady Memorial Hospital and other affiliated sites. Fellows will attend a weekly Tumor Board and weekly Grand Rounds, have access to clinical research protocols. The Fellows participate in the teaching mission and work with students, residents, and peers and are expected to demonstrate outstanding activity in the teaching aspects of the Department. We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow that would take the lead on all aspects of cleaning, managing, and analyzing quantitative data. This includes the administrative data extracted from electronic medical records as well as survey data collected from patients and providers. In addition to analyzing quantitative data and publishing papers as part of the national consortium, the post-doctoral fellow may have opportunities to contribute to the process evaluation aim, which involves the collection and analysis of qualitative data.    Dr. Arriola is Dean of the Laney Graduate School of Emory University but maintains a faculty appointment in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences in the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, a joint department between Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering and Emory University’s School of Medicine (Atlanta, GA), invites applications for tenure track faculty at the assistant, associate, and full professor levels.   We are currently soliciting applications for faculty with interests in preclinical animal MRI to be appointed and located in the Emory University School of Medicine.  Emory is making a substantial investment in preclinical and clinical imaging under the auspices of the Center for Systems Imaging Core, https://www.cores.emory.edu/csic/. The expanded center is sited in a new building, completed in 2023, and includes a new 11.7 T MRI for rodents and a 7T MRI for humans.  A 9.4 T MRI for rodents and microPET are also available.   Successful candidates should have a research program synergistic with the existing strengths in the department and in the greater Atlanta community. Children’s Healthcare Atlanta Cardiology and Emory Department of Pediatrics are seeking an experienced and highly skilled physician to join our electrophysiology division. The primary role of the Electrophysiologist will be to provide excellent care across the Heart Center in a variety of settings to manage patients with arrhythmia and those diagnosed with or at risk for inherited heart disease. This includes the inpatient environment where you will collaborate with our surgeons, intensivists and other cardiologists. JOB DESCRIPTION:A full-time postdoctoral traineeship on an NIH-funded T32 training grant entitled “Women’s Health and Intersectionality Using Data Science and Health Information Technology”. This T32 trainee program prepares nurse scientists with the knowledge and skills to employ Data Science (DS) and/or Health Information Technology (HIT) to improve women’s health while considering the intersectionality of multiple social determinants of health. Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cancer and Kidney Biology Hong Lab     Summary of the Fellowship: The Hong Lab (www.thehonglab.org) is seeking highly-motivated postdoctoral fellows to join a team of scientists using functional genomics to study the development and consequences of abnormal development in the kidney, identify new biology and therapeutic targets in childhood and young adult kidney/brain cancers. These include Wilms Tumor and cancers involving the SWI/SNF chromatin modifying complex such as Renal Medullary Carcinoma, Rhabdoid Tumor and Atypical Teratoid/ Rhabdoid Tumor.   Our research laboratory is housed within the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in the Health Science Research Building. Fellows will have access to resources within the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, the Winship Cancer Institute, the Pediatric Research Alliance along with collaborators at Georgia Institute of Technology. Reporting to the Director of the Library, the Online Learning Project Librarian (OLPL) is a key member of Pitts Theology Library’s Reference team. The OLPL provides in-person and virtual research and reference services and works closely with other team members to provide fully online and digital library instruction. The OLPL also works with the Reference and Instruction Librarian and members of the Office of Digital Learning to identify, create, promote, and facilitate digital library instruction for Candler School of Theology students, staff, and faculty.
