Emory University School of Law seeks applicants for full-time faculty positions teaching legal writing.      The successful applicants for this faculty position will teach legal research and writing in Emory Law’s required LRW curriculum.  The required LRW curriculum currently consists of a two-semester 1L legal writing course. During the fall semester, legal writing faculty introduce legal analysis, research, and citation skills through objective legal writing assignments.  During the spring semester, faculty introduce persuasive writing and oral argument skills. Faculty also spend significant time conducting written evaluations of student work and conferencing with students individually.        Emory Law School’s legal research and writing curriculum has been modified over time to ensure that the law school is always striving for best practices in pedagogy. The legal writing faculty work independently but collaboratively. A member of the legal research and writing faculty serves as administrative coordinator to facilitate collaboration.  The faculty members have substantial autonomy to plan their own syllabi and classes, but they work together on key aspects of the first-year writing curriculum, such as assignments, due dates, course coverage, and learning objectives.      Legal writing faculty are encouraged and expected to be active participants in the Emory Law School community.  Legal writing faculty serve on faculty committees and those with three-year or longer contracts can vote on all faculty issues except those related to tenure or tenure-track hiring.  They also participate in community activities such as faculty colloquia; alumni and student events; and meetings of the legal writing faculty, faculty committees, and the faculty as a whole.  In addition, legal writing faculty may at times teach other law school classes, typically on an overload basis, to the extent such classes fit into the curricular needs of the law school. Legal research and writing faculty members play significant roles within the Emory Law community and currently occupy two of the five major academic leadership positions within the law school.        This is a non-tenure-track, contract position that begins on July 1, 2024, and is subject to Emory Law School’s policies for LRW contract faculty. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine is seeking an Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist committed to an academic career in Gynecology & Obstetrics. The position will hold a rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience.   Established more than 25 years ago, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division was one of the first specialty units in the country. Today the division provides services at Emory Perinatal Center at Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Perinatal Center at Decatur, and the Grady Regional Perinatal Center, the largest of only six regional high-risk infant care centers in the south. The division is seeking MFM specialists to serve at Grady Memorial Hospital.   Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching medical students and residents and providing inpatient and outpatient obstetrics care. Candidates should be comfortable in providing consultative services for the General obstetricians in the treatment of obstetric and maternal fetal medicine concerns to medically complex patients. The faculty member is expected to serve the University in areas of teaching, research, and clinical service appropriate to their professional training and capabilities and their career goals.    Primary clinical responsibilities would be participation in all the clinical activities of the Division, particularly its clinical activities at Grady Memorial Hospital and affiliated sites. The faculty member would be expected to deliver excellent care to patients while growing and expanding access for obstetrical patients in the Emory Maternal Fetal Medicine at Grady clinical practices. The goal of the fellowship is to provide specialized training in aortic and complex/high-risk adult cardiac surgery beyond cardiothoracic surgery residency training.  The Aortic Fellow will work at the direction of the Emory Aortic Center Medical Director and function across the Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital (primary site) and Emory University Hospital campuses.   The Aortic Fellow will receive advanced training in and be responsible for the following knowledge areas and skills sets including, but not limited to:   - Treatment of aortic disease (aneurysms and dissection) utilizing both open and endovascular techniques; - Preoperative evaluation, operative management, and postoperative patient care of complex adult surgical conditions, including major thoracic aortic surgery and complex/high risk cardiac surgery; - Serve as surgical first assist on complex aortic procedures under the direction of the Medical Director and other cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons; - Train other cardiothoracic surgery residents and/or fellows on the diagnosis and treatment of complex aortic disease; - Interpretation and assessment of diagnostic imaging studies; - Participation in both emergent and elective aortic and adult cardiac procedures; - Independent completion of critical portions of the complex aortic procedures (i.e. key anastomoses, performance of re-operative sternotomy); - Independent completion of basic cardiac and aortic cases at the direction or under the supervision of the Medical Director; - Additional education and scholarly pursuits as determined by the Medical Director to support the mission of the Aortic Center.  -It is REQUIRED that all candidates possess the following credentials: (1) Completion of an ACGME accredited cardiothoracic residency program (2) ABTS Board Eligibility (3) A current (or eligibility for) a Georgia medical license and DEA license

The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine is currently accepting applications for up to four, 1-year Fellowship positions in Advanced Pelvic Surgery which begins in July 2023. The Fellowship in Advanced Pelvic Surgery at Emory University provides postgraduate Obstetrician-Gynecologists the opportunity to develop advanced surgical expertise working side-by-side with the Division’s team of gynecologic oncologists who perform a broad range of abdominal, vaginal, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, including robotic procedures. The majority of the fellow’s time would be devoted to the completion of training in Advanced Pelvic Surgery including the management of complex surgical cases on the Gynecologic Oncology Service. Fellows will also participate in a full range of outpatient clinical activities and share in weekend and holiday call responsibilities. The Fellows will receive clinical and surgical training and provide inpatient and outpatient services at Emory University Hospitals, Clinics, Grady Memorial Hospital and other affiliated sites. Fellows will attend a weekly Tumor Board and weekly Grand Rounds, have access to clinical research protocols. The Fellows participate in the teaching mission and work with students, residents, and peers and are expected to demonstrate outstanding activity in the teaching aspects of the Department.
