    Clinical time would be spent in the Neurosciences NICU at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Midtown Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital. We expect the time will be split between Emory University Hospitals and Grady Memorial Hospital primarily. However, this could change based on the needs of the service and expected future expansion.   Clinical service in the Neurosciences NICU would be scheduled in 1-2 week blocks, alternating coverage with other physicians. These duties would not exceed 2-3 weeks of clinical service per month, with 1-2 weeks of non-clinical time for other administrative and academic pursuits. The clinical expectation is approximately 20 weeks of service per year, however, this is based on an individual calculation and therefore, may result in an increased number of weekends and reduced number of weeks. Alterations to this schedule would be made by mutual agreement between the successful candidate, the Director of the Division of Neurocritical Care, and the Department Chair.   Night call would be in the Emory Hospital Units and Grady Neurosciences Critical Care Units and would be shared equitably among all physicians covering the units.   It may be expectated that the successful candidate may participate in coverage of the virtual Neurocritical care program as it develops. The successful candidate will be expected to devote more than 75% of  total effort to professional service.

  Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the established and cutting-edge laboratory of Dr. Janghee Woo in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Winship Cancer Institute, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. Our primary project focuses on investigating the role of clonal hematopoiesis in various disease conditions and the genomic characterization of hematologic disorders using single-cell technology.   The Woo lab is an integral part of the highly collaborative and interdisciplinary translational research program at the Winship Cancer Institute, Emory School of Medicine, Atlanta. Our research goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms of hematologic disorders, particularly focusing on the biological and molecular consequences of clonal hematopoiesis and developing novel therapeutic modalities for hematological malignancies. We are seeking energetic and motivated postdoctoral researchers in basic hematology, immunology, and molecular biology to contribute to several ongoing and exciting projects within our team. We aim to characterize abnormal hematopoiesis and the aberrant immune microenvironment mediated by clonal hematopoiesis in both patients and animal models. Additionally, we will perturb pathways of interest using therapeutic compounds in collaboration with internal and external investigators, as well as pharmaceutical companies. Our approach is grounded in utilizing patient samples obtained through our close clinical collaborations, innovative mouse models, and ex-vivo assays to discover novel pathways and aberrant cellular interactions via develop novel human clinical trials aimed at modulating signaling pathways and regulating gene expression. These positions will also provide candidates with opportunities to collaborate closely with our academic and industry partners, oncologists, and surgeons in addressing mechanistic questions for cutting-edge clinical trials.   Strong background in hematology, immunology, and molecular biology. Emory Heart and Vascular Center is a nationally and globally recognized leader in cardiovascular care and is home to the Emory Adult Congenital Heart Center, one of the country's largest and most comprehensive programs caring for adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD).   The Emory Adult Congenital Heart Center is seeking to add three additional board-certified or board-eligible ACHD cardiologists to meet the needs of our growing regional and national ACHD patient population, support clinical education and training in ACHD, and conduct research relevant to the ACHD population and/or other cardiovascular problems. We are looking for future partners who are eager for a chance to care for patients with highly complex congenital heart disease across the entire spectrum of ACHD cardiology expertise, including advanced imaging (CT/MR), intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography, cardio-obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient clinical service. Our center is the only Adult Congenital Heart Association accredited comprehensive care ACHD center in Georgia, and we are the destination program for adolescents and young adults transitioning from the Sibley Heart Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Patients from across the United States are referred to Emory for access to advanced diagnosis and innovative treatments offered by our team currently consisting of four adult congenital cardiologists, three structural/valvular interventional cardiologists, three experienced congenital heart surgeons, advanced practice providers specializing in ACHD, and multiple other experts in the fields of minimally invasive heart valve surgery, aortic and vascular surgery, advanced heart failure/transplantation, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. The plan should also indicate the methods by which the objectives are to be achieved and the role played by each participating institution.   2.    Conduct of the program, including the activities of the fellows to ensure that each fellow is advancing and gaining in experience and responsibility in accordance with the educational plan.   3.    Regular review of the program to assess the quality of the educational experience and to review the resources available in order to ensure that maximal benefit is being derived from the integration of the components of the program. This review will include the assessment of each clinical teaching unit to be sure that there is an appropriate number of teaching staff and Housestaff, that there is an adequate number of appropriate patients and professional services, and that it is functioning in accordance with the plan agreed upon. Resources appropriate to education in the specialty should be carefully reviewed to ensure that, for example, ambulatory care, emergency care, intensive care, and radiological, laboratory, operative, and other facilities are utilized with optimal effectiveness. The opinions of fellows must be among the factors considered in this review.   4.    Establishment of mechanisms to provide career planning and counseling for fellows and to deal with problems such as those related to psychological stress.   5.    Selection of candidates for admission to the program, in accordance with policies determined by the Graduate Medical Education Committee and the existing Memorandum of Understanding between Emory/CDC/ATSDR/Grady.   6.    Assessment of performance of each fellow through a well-organized program of in training evaluation. This will include the final evaluation at the end of the program as required by the ACGME. This form attests that the fellow has attained the necessary skills, knowledge, attitude, and judgment necessary for independent and competent practice without direct supervision.   7.    Maintenance of an appeal mechanism. The Fellowship Governace Committee should receive and review appeals from fellows following the appropriate promotion, dismissal and grievance policy.   8.    Supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff members at our primary teaching institutions as well as additional institutions that may participate in the fellowship program. In this endeavor, the program director is supported by the Section Chief and Department Chair but retains the ultimate responsibility and authority to ensure appropriate education both professionally and academically of our Housestaff.   9.    Gathering and reporting complete and accurate information as requested by the accrediting, licensure, certification and funding agencies. The Program Director is responsible for providing regular reports of progress to the fellow as well as to the teaching staff.   10.  Assuring compliance with institutional and accrediting agency requirements and appropriate notification of major programmatic changes and obtaining approval prior to their implementation.   11.  Developing and implementing program policies that are compatible with accreditation and institutional requirements and policies including policies pertaining to duty hours, supervision, moonlighting, leave, selection, grievance, and promotion and dismissal.   12.  The Program Director is a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) and is welcome to participate in committee activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, on-going subcommittee participation and periodically chairing Internal Review Committees. Attendance at 75% of the quarterly GMEC meetings annually is expected. The Program Director may appoint a surrogate to attend in their absence if needed.   13.  The Program Director must participate in scholarship as defined by the ACGME Common Requirements and should mentor fellows in their development of scholarly activities.

  Children’s Behavioral and Mental Health Center is undergoing rapid growth and transformation. We are working to innovate the mental health care system for children in Georgia and are recruiting dedicated team members who are eager to join this mission. Children’s is seeking a Clinical Psychologist with experience in using evidenced-based assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders. This position is eligible for a faculty appointment through the Emory University School of Medicine, if desired. Rank is commensurate with experience.   The psychologist will work within the Children’s general outpatient clinic, providing assessments for patients referred by outpatient behavioral mental health providers to assist with differential diagnosis and treatment planning. Patients range from ages 4-21 years old with diagnostic referral questions associated with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders. Additionally, the psychologist will consult with school professionals, as needed. Candidates with knowledge of school-based special education eligibilities preferred. Suitable candidates will have a dedication to promoting and offering culturally-sensitive and inclusive approaches to assessment as well fostering inclusion, diversity, and belonging within the Children’s community.   Psychologists work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, behavioral and mental health therapists (LCSWs and LPCs), and nurse case managers to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each patient.  Psychologists participate in the training of psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows as well other behavioral mental health trainees. The Bridge Clinic aims to provide short-term pharmacotherapy, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, parent training, and case management for patients recently discharged from an acute psychiatric care setting (emergency department or inpatient psychiatric unit) or Children’s inpatient team.
