The Division of Pediatric Neurology, Department of Pediatrics, with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) is looking for an Epilepsy Program Director to join our academic/clinical team at an Associate Professor/Professor level.   The successful candidate will be a key leader in our Epilepsy Center, overseeing our epilepsy and neurophysiology programs, with a keen eye for quality and future program growth as well as an interest in epilepsy clinical research. Epileptologists participate in the teaching of neurology residents and epilepsy fellows as well as staffing a 12 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Fast Access Neurology clinics and reading LTVM/EEG studies. Children’s Epilepsy Program has several epilepsy subspecialty clinical programs including ketogenic diet, genetic epilepsy, infantile spasms/epileptic encephalopathy, psychogenic non epileptic events (PNEE) and epilepsy surgery. The Pediatric Neurosciences Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is ranked 1st in the Southeast and one of the top 20 programs in the USA by USN&WR. The candidate will design, carry out and analyze experiments as part of projects leading all work under the supervision of the PI. The expectation will be for daily communication with the PI to discuss the results of experiments and plan the next steps of the projects. Based on experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and virology taking on projects relevant to these topics but will also learn new techniques to implement in all projects. Additional expectations include participation in weekly meetings in the lab, one-on-one meeting with the PI and group meetings with collaborators (in person and via zoom) when the topic is relevant to the assigned projects. Presentation of data in lab meetings and journal clubs and will assist in preparing figures for manuscripts and presentations based on all work. Expectation to help train undergraduate students or other lab members in techniques if sufficiently proficient. In addition, the candidate will contribute to lab tasks, like all lab members, and will help the lab operate in a well-organized manner.   A BS in biology or relevant area with experience in a laboratory setting for at least two years. Experience in molecular biology and cell culture techniques are preferred qualifications.

The Emory + Children’s Pediatric Institute, in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking one full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist (1.0 FTE) in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology. Our team is committed to providing high quality clinical care, building strong research collaborations, and offering varied training experiences. This neuropsychologist will primarily support our inpatient rehabilitation team on the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) at the Scottish Rite campus in addition to conducting outpatient evaluations to monitor recovery over time. Opportunities for providing consultative services in outpatient medical clinics is also possible. We currently have two Neuropsychologists and two Pediatric Psychologists devoted to our intensive rehab team.   Our Pediatric Neuropsychology Team The Department of Neuropsychology at Children’s is one of the largest in the Southeast region. Our team currently includes 12 neuropsychologists (8 whom are board certified), five pediatric psychologists (1 is board certified), four psychometrists, and an accredited training program. The Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) is a CARF-accredited, 28-bed unit located on the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite campus that provides intensive inpatient neurorehabilitation to children and adolescents who have experienced an acquired brain injury and/or (new onset) medical diagnosis with neurological involvement. Common diagnoses include acquired injuries (e.g., TBI, spinal cord injury, anoxic brain injury, stroke, abusive head trauma [AHT]), new onset illness (e.g., meningitis/encephalitis, brain tumors), as well as various neurodevelopmental and chronic neurological conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy, spina bifida, intractable epilepsy).     In general, our group sees patients with complex medical and neurological histories throughout development (birth to age 20) in different settings (inpatient, outpatient, clinics) at different time points (acute, chronic) covering various subspecialties. We currently have two providers and one psychometrist offering bilingual (Spanish/English) services. Primary referral sources include Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Cardiology. Access to psychometry support is provided and opportunities for collaborative research with established investigators are available. Our group has an APPCN-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology and an APA-accredited internship. Providers are involved in the supervision of trainees, including doctoral level graduate students (externs), interns, and fellows.    Minimum Qualifications Requirements include a doctoral degree from an accredited (APA/CPA) training program and a formal postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology with an emphasis on pediatrics. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine seek candidates to join our group of 23-faculty members for several Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor non-tenured faculty appointment positions.   Expertise is required in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABP certification or board eligibility in pediatric critical care medicine and the ability to obtain a Georgia license are required.   Rank, salary, and tenure status are commensurate with training and experience.   Teaching responsibilities include participation in formal didactic lectures and informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and other health care professionals working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Our CCM group supports an accredited fellowship program of 15 fellows/year. The faculty are supported by a rapidly growing APP group (currently at 14 APPs) and a significant commitment to their training and education is required. Attendance and participation in presentations, small groups, simulation sessions, and multidisciplinary conferences is expected.   Clinical responsibilities include clinical practice in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at our Atlanta Egleston campus with a 40-bed PICU and ~3,000 admissions/year. The Egleston campus will move to a new 446-licensed bed Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital with a 48-bed PICU in September 2024 and eventual expansion to a 60-bed PICU in the fall of 2029.   Academic responsibilities include investigator-initiated and collaborative research. The non-tenured faculty appointment involves a substantial commitment to research and the expansion of critical care outreach services within the healthcare system. Protected time for research is negotiable for a research-focused candidate with high potential for extramural funding. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University Department of Pediatrics are seeking a board-certified, academic pediatric endocrinologist to join our large and rapidly growing endocrinology group. Although a successful candidate will be called on to perform a combination of administrative, academic, and clinical activities, the exact proportions of these duties will depend on the applicant’s interests, experience, and expertise.   The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is composed of 21 pediatric endocrinologists, 2 psychologist, 16 certified diabetes educators, 3 social workers, and a team of 32 administrative and nursing support personnel. Six pediatric endocrinology fellows participate in both clinical and academic activities. Emory’s Department of Pediatrics in ranked 1st in the country for NIH funding. Laboratory space is available in the Department and access to an extensive array of Core Laboratory services is available. And a staff group of clinical research support members supporting investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials.   Our group offers comprehensive tertiary care to children with diabetes and endocrine diseases.
