The Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine, working in partnership and practicing at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking a board eligible or board certified pediatric intensivist at the Assistant Professor level to join our 14 physicians and four Advance Practice Providers. A physician joining our group will find family oriented individuals who value mutual respect. Numerous opportunities exist for collaboration across disciplines and in conjunction with Emory, Georgia Tech, Morehouse, and the CDC.

A successful candidate must have a commitment to excellence, education, patient safety and collaboration. Advanced training (fellowship) and research experience in extracorporeal therapies is preferred. Responsibilities will include educational and clinical duties in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a medical/surgical 36 bed unit with >2900 admissions per year. Patient care includes ECMO, CRRT, & transport medical control, but does not include post-operative cardiac care (separate Cardiac ICU). Our CCM group supports an accredited fellowship program (15 fellows) and is an integral part of resident education. Rank, salary and tenure status are commensurate with training and experience.


Preferred qualifications/education:

Advanced training (fellowship) in extracorporeal therapies.


Job Description:

• Provide clinical care to critically ill and injured children. Clinical service will involve ~ 130 shifts per year per FTE allocation, including days, nights and weekends. Clinical service consists of rounding 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, midnight), continuous oversight of the care team, medical control for air and ground transport, and Code Blue response.

• Engage in the teaching of residents and fellows during conferences and while on clinical service.
