This clinical position is for a full time 1.0FTE faculty PHYSICIAN position in Emory Student Health - Emory Campus Life. This position will involve outpatient care of Emory students and faculty on the Emory University Campus.


The duties of an Emory University Student Health Services (EUSHS) Staff Physician will include but will not be limited to:


  • Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of EUSHS patients in the outpatient clinic, both on an appointment, same day, or urgent basis. EUSHS patients include students, spouses, and dependents greater than 16-years-old. Proficiency in women’s health and mental health care are preferred.


  • Collaboration with and supervision of EUSHS Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, in keeping with the rules of Georgia’s Composite State Board of Medical Examiners and the Georgia Board of Nursing, including cosigning of charts as indicated by Georgia and/or EUSHS Policies and Procedures.


  • Performance of in-house office laboratory tests, including but not limited to: microscopic urinalysis, saline wet preps, KOH preps, Rapid Strep screens, and Rapid Mononucleosis screens, Rapid COVID-19, and Rapid Influenza tests.


  • Suturing and other minor surgical office procedures.


  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Director of Clinical Provider Services.


Position Requirements: MD or DO from an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school; completion of an accredited residency program and board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine,  Emergency Medicine or Med-Peds; three (3) years of post-residency experience in practicing medicine in an ambulatory care environment or emergency room.


Preferred Skills

Superior communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and departments in a complex and vibrant university and academic healthcare setting; and competency in the use of electronic health records.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a college health setting.
