Description

The Division of Pediatric Hospitalists with the Emory + Children's Pediatric Institute (Emory University School of Medicine + Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) is seeking a hospitalist with interests in clinical services & clinical informatics through Emory's School of Medicine, the largest pediatric multispecialty practice in Georgia. We are expanding to meet the needs of the growing pediatric community. We are committed to giving children a bright future by providing the highest quality state-of-the-art clinical care and improving how we care for children through scientific research, as well as, training the next generation of leaders in pediatrics.

 

Our Pediatric Hospitalist Division
Our pediatric hospitalist team consists of 30+ hospitalists, who are all faculty members in the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory School of Medicine or faculty members in Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The Emory Hospitalist team services are offered in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, ranked as one of the best hospitals for children in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. Our faculty is involved with many clinical research studies ranging from clinical trials to basic and translational research. Faculty can also progress their career by collaborating with our peers at Emory Healthcare, Georgia Tech, Grady Memorial Hospital, and Marcus Autism Center. With the Center for Disease Control and Prevention nearby, there are many opportunities for collaborations on national and international projects as well.

Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
Current DEA registration
BLS certification is required. PALS certification

Responsibilities
Provides patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children’s policies and procedures.
Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner.
Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patent care and appropriate reimbursement.
Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area.
Participates in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in BLS, PALS, or NALS (by 12/31/01) and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the area assigned.
Performs other responsibilities as required.

 

System Responsibilities
Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
