Emory University / Atlanta VA Medical Center – Postdoctoral Fellow/Technician in Cartilage/Meniscus Regeneration
The Patel Lab at the Department of Orthopaedics at Emory University is searching for motivated and energetic applicants for positions in the repair and regeneration of orthopaedic soft tissues. In particular, we are searching for a postdoctoral fellow or experienced technician to work on exciting new projects.
In particular, the research fellow will use a combination of biomaterials, biomechanics, tissue engineering, and mechanobiology to study the early microenvironments in soft tissue repair and regeneration, and to test various therapies and scaffolds in order to enhance tissue function. The candidate will be able to develop a broad set of research skills in engineering and biology, lead his/her own project, and publish and present research findings. This position will also involve the use of translational animal models and interactions with clinical collaborators. Candidates will be supported and mentored both academically and professionally to pursue subsequent degrees and careers (PhD, MD, postdoc, faculty position). For more information, please visit our website at the-patel-lab.com.
Interested candidates would ideally have previous research experience, preferably in bioengineering or related fields. Candidates are expected to work both independently and as a part of a larger orthopaedic department. Prior experience in cell/tissue culture, biomaterials, or biomechanics is preferred, but not required.
If you have any questions regarding this position or research, please do not hesitate to reach out to Jay Patel at jay.milan.patel@emory.edu.
