Description

Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta are seeking candidates for faculty positions in our Division of Neonatology in the Emory-Children’s Pediatric Institute. We are looking for exceptional individuals interested in clinical care, education and research to fulfill our academic missions.

 

Our clinical sites include inpatient NICU facilities at three Emory-affiliated hospitals, Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory University Hospital-Midtown and Egleston Children’s Hospital, and total more than 130 NICU beds. As well, we manage patients in our Developmental Progress Clinic, an outpatient service that provides follow-up care for our highest-risk infants.

 

The physician will share in attending responsibilities and provide patient care in a high-risk developmental follow-up clinic in an academic medical center as a member of a multi-disciplinary care team which includes medical providers (MD/NP), physical therapy, psychology, social work and nutrition. Involvement will be for direct patient care and also research activities. Training provided as needed to fulfill the role.

 

Patients who participate in our clinical research efforts, including those in our NIH-sponsored Neonatal Research Network trials, are recruited from all three sites and our outpatient service. Our delivery services manage more than 9000 deliveries each year, and our transport service allows ready access to our system for patients who deliver outside of our facilities. Our pediatric medical and surgical colleagues provide a full-range of expected pediatric subspecialty consultative expertise. We have a long tradition of faculty involvement in basic and clinical research efforts, as well as participation in the areas of quality improvement, advocacy, ethics, and education.

 

A neonatologist with interest in developmental follow-up, a developmental pediatrician or a general pediatrician could fulfill this role. Position would be a part-time position for a developmental pediatrician or general pediatrician. Possibility for full-time employment for a BC/BE neonatologist who is also interested in providing care in the neonatology clinical inpatient service also.


Academic rank will be determined commensurate with experience, and we encourage the application of candidates interested in any of the usual academic ranks or tracks.
