  • Description

    Post-doctoral position is available to study the effects of commensal bacteria on host biology. The laboratory is part of a multi-investigator group that utilizes a variety of experimental approaches to study the effect of the microbiota on eukaryotic homeostatic signaling and physiological processes, including advanced proteomic/metabolomic analysis, germ-free mice, and novel imaging techniques. We are seeking a doctoral level fellow interested in these areas. This position represents an excellent opportunity for a talented scientist to establish themselves in a new and rapidly expanding field and benefit from exposure to a wide variety of state-of-the-art methodologies. The candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills and strong background in experimental mouse biology, and relevant mass spectroscopy and biochemical experience. The successful candidate will work in a stimulating research environment, and salary and fringe benefits are commensurate with experience and professional background of the applicant.

    The laboratory is housed in the Whitehead Center for Biomedical Research on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
