  • Description

    The Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory University School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Applicants for other ranks will be considered. Beginning immediately, we seek investigators who will develop an independent and vigorous research program in any area of chemical biology. Individuals with demonstrated research interest and accomplishments in chemical biology in neurodegeneration and inflammation, cancer, and other disease areas, as well as innovative chemistry approaches to address fundamental biology issues, are encouraged to apply.

     

    Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study, postdoctoral experience, and a demonstrated record of research excellence. Applicants should apply online and submit (i) a cover letter, (ii) a curriculum vitae, (iii) a brief statement of past research accomplishments, future research interests and goals, and teaching interest (<3 pages), and (iv) names and contact information of three references. These documents should also be uploaded when submitting application into Emory's website.

     

    The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collegial basic research department with a focused direction on chemical biology, which benefits from extensive scientific connectivity with chemistry and clinical departments across the campus, including the Department of Chemistry, Department of Neurology, Winship Cancer Institute, the Department of Pediatrics, Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, and other research units of the Medical School. New faculty will have immediate access to powerful research infrastructures and core facilities, including the well-recognized Emory Chemical Biology Discovery Center with state-of-the-art high throughput screening capabilities and a pharmacology-focused top ranked graduate training program. Emory Pharmacology and Chemical Biology is experiencing another phase of growth with the strong commitment of the leadership of the Woodruff Health Science Center and the School of Medicine, who share a focused vision for therapeutic innovation and translational biology. With the new focus on chemical biology, we aim to harness the power of chemistry to address major challenges in life sciences and disease biology.
