  • Description

The Sibley Heart Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University School of Medicine, is seeking to hire a non-invasive imaging pediatric cardiologist to join our team of 11 dedicated imaging physicians.  The position requires expertise in both echocardiography and cross-sectional imaging, and all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. The candidate will join the division of pediatric cardiology of Emory University School of Medicine, with 50 faculty members led by Dr. William Mahle.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is the largest pediatric referral center in the Southeast, with 550 pediatric beds, and 1,400 pediatric general and specialist healthcare providers.  The pediatric cardiac program at Emory is one of the largest in the United States, with in excess of 800 cardiac surgeries performed each year.  Emory has large pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship programs, with five categorical fellows per year in addition to advanced training programs in imaging, catheterization, electrophysiology, intensive care, and heart failure. Our cardiac program has been consistently ranked as a top program nationally in US News and World Report.

The cross-sectional imaging program performs more than 550 annual cardiac MRI studies on a dedicated 1.5 Tesla magnet located within the Heart Center, and a new state of the art CT scanner was installed in October, 2017. Our busy echocardiography lab performs more than 35,000 transthoracic, 650 transesophageal, and 1400 fetal echocardiograms annually. The fetal program has a broad referral base and provides comprehensive care including prenatal genetic counseling and surgical planning. The cardiac imaging research core (CIRC) includes research coordinator and statistical support, as well as core lab facilities for both echo and MRI studies.

The candidate should have completed categorical fellowship as well as advanced imaging training and be BC/BE in pediatric cardiology.  In addition to clinical and research duties, teaching responsibilities include the education of pediatric residents and fellows. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
