    The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine is recruiting a Pediatric- Inpatient Cardiologist to join the program in Atlanta. 

     

    Position will consist of both inpatient and outpatient cardiology. Work in an inpatient pediatric cardiology unit setting to provide management of a wide spectrum of cardiac disease states including medical patients with acute and chronic pediatric cardiovascular disease processes, pre-operative and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgical patients. The physician will supervise a medical team of trainees (pediatric residents and pediatric cardiology fellows) as well as advanced practice providers. This clinical role will require skills in managing a high acuity non-intensive care unit which delivers therapies including vasoactive infusions, mechanical support, noninvasive respiratory support including initiation and titration of heated high flow nasal cannula in an academic setting. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to admission, ongoing inpatient diagnostic and therapeutic management and discharging a wide spectrum of patients. The physician is expected to know the indications for and ordering of specific testing modalities, interpreting the results and communicating the results with families and referring physicians.  The physician is expected to work within a larger team of hospital-based providers including cardiac surgeons, cardiac intensivists, cardiac catheterization specialists and cardiac imaging specialists. Position will also consist of inpatient consultative services as well as an outpatient continuity clinic.

     

     

    This position is full-time. The physician must become competent and compliant with the electronic medical records, policies and procedures of SHCC and hospital that they have privileges in. Interested candidates should be Board Certified (or eligible) in Pediatric Cardiology and will be required to remain Board Certified throughout their employment.
