Reporting to the Head of Cataloging, the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian will be a key member of the Pitts Theology Library’s technical services team, contributing to the internal consistency and quality control of the data and metadata of the Library’s discovery systems and will support the discoverability and accessibility of the Library’s resources. The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian will work closely with the Acquisitions Specialist in overseeing the Library’s periodicals collection and with the Systems and Digital Scholarship Librarian in supporting the operation of the Library catalog and managing the Library’s growing digital collections. The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian may supervise student assistants.
The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian will be hired at the rank “Librarian Specialist Assistant Rank” or “Librarian Specialist Associate Rank,” depending upon the candidate’s experience. Rank of Librarian Specialist is for professionals with appropriate service, professional development, and scholarly contributions. Generally responsible for a full range of library services to include subject specialty/curator, collection/digital archivist, expertise in preservation, research and reference, outreach and education, and technical services. Individual contributor to the collaborative work of the department and the library. Specialist may supervise students.
