  • Description

    The Music Department plans a Director of Orchestral Studies appointment at the rank of Full-Time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, beginning August 1, 2019. Responsibilities include building and maintaining a quality undergraduate orchestral studies program, conducting the Emory University Symphony Orchestra, and teaching relevant courses. Additional responsibilities include coordinating applied lessons in the string area and active recruiting. A commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate majors and non-majors is essential. The lecture track at Emory is a parallel track to the tenure track; it is designed for faculty whose professional focus is on teaching and performance. In the performance area the Director of Jazz Studies, the Director of Wind Studies, and the Director of Vocal Studies are lecture-track positions.

    Doctorate preferred or Masters with comparable experience.
