  • Description

    The Department of Surgery's Division of Plastic Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is looking for a qualified medical doctor who is interested in an advanced 12-month aesthetic fellowship training.  This fellowship will cover all aspects of aesthetic plastic surgery at the Emory Aesthetic Center (EAC) and will focus on the development of comprehensive independent clinical assessment of the cosmetic plastic surgery patient and development of surgical and management capabilities through graduated responsibility.  The fellow will work as first assistant of the Emory Aesthetic Center faculty, assist with management of aesthetic patients in clinic, assist with the Emory Aesthetic Center faculty call coverage, will take general plastic surgery calls for 1 out of 6 weeks (excluding hand and pediatric plastic surgery calls) and will have weekly educational activities as proposed by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) fellowship curriculum. 

     

    The fellow will also engage in assisting with education of plastic surgery residents. The fellow will be responsible for maintaining and submitting a monthly case log sheet to the fellowship associate program director which should include all surgical and non-surgical cases performed as first assistant or as an independent surgeon to be able to graduate from the program. The fellow should submit at least one scientific paper to the Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ) upon graduation.

    General Qualifications:

    • Candidates must have completed an ACGME plastic surgery residency and be eligible for an unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Georgia.
    • Must possess or qualify for a valid controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate.
