The Winship Cancer Institute and the Department of Radiation Oncology, Emory University School of Medicine invite applications for a full-time tenure-track/tenured position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Areas of research emphasis include, but are not restricted to, studies of DNA repair and genetic instability, radiation/radiotherapy, and immune therapy. Studies may encompass basic or translational science. Candidates should hold a PhD and/or MD degree. Assistant Professor candidates should demonstrate outstanding potential and a compelling vision for an extramurally funded research program. Associate and Full Professor candidates should have a track record of extramural funding and outstanding research accomplishments. The Winship Cancer Institute is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Department of Radiation Oncology is ranked sixth in the nation in NIH funding. The Department faculty is distributed among Divisions of Cancer Biology, Medical Physics, and Clinical Affairs. Current research areas include DNA repair and DNA damage signaling, experimental therapeutics, cancer stem cells, cancer metabolism, and biological effects of heavy particle and space radiation. The Department operates multiple clinical sites in greater Atlanta area, with the 5-room Emory Proton Therapy center scheduled to open late 2018.
