Description

 

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Emory University School of Medicine, invites applications for a tenure eligible position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level within the broad field of virology.  ALL areas of virology are of interest.  Applicants in the fields of pathogenesis, virus-host interactions, molecular virology, viral evolution, and viral immunology are encouraged to apply. 

 

We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with state-of-the-art research facilities, as well as proximity to and collaborations with The Emory Vaccine Center, Emory Transplant Center, The Winship Cancer Institute, the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, the Biomedical Engineering Department at GA Tech, and the  Centers for Disease Control. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, in conjunction with a record of strong postdoctoral training. Ideal candidates will be collaborative scientists that bring new perspectives to the Department. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program, and to participate in our strong graduate and medical student training programs through mentorship and teaching. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship.
