The Deep Brain Stimulation Program in the Department of Neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking to fill the position of a Human Neurophysiologist. The primary responsibility of this faculty position is to assist in the electrophysiological mapping and anatomical localization of various targets for deep brain stimulation lead implantation. In addition, the candidate will also be required to perform quality control assessment of targeting accuracy and precision as well as lead localization and modeling. Finally, this candidate will be expected to perform research and publish scientific papers related to the topics such as human electrophysiology and deep brain stimulation. The candidate should have experience in single-unit electrophysiology, human basal ganglia physiology and human basal ganglia anatomy. In addition, the candidate should be familiar with neurosurgical planning, electrophysiology, MatLab and statistical software. The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience (or related discipline) and experience in the human operating room environment. Preference will be given to candidates whom have direct experience in deep brain stimulation procedures and have received training directly related to deep brain stimulation electrophysiology and anatomy.
