  • Description

    Independently design and performs a wide range of highly technical and complex research and analytical tests and procedures, including classic biostatistical methods as well as machine learning methods. Devises highly specialized research procedures by applying knowledge of advance research techniques and equipment. Provides input to protocol development. Serves as a technical source for other research personnel. Analyzes and interprets the results of studies. Investigates and recommends alternative approaches to improve the quality of results. Trains research staff in specialized procedures and theoretical concepts for unique tests. Recommends new analytical methods needed for qualitative analysis. May assist in grant and other funding application preparation. Review literature for related research developments and techniques. Prepares written materials, charts and graphs on specialized techniques and research results for publication or presentation. Oversees quality assurance of research performed by others. Performs related responsibilities as required. Functions as a skilled individual contributor or lead researcher on one or more research projects, serving as an expert in specialized area(s). Designs, develops and conducts large and/or complex research projects. Reviews progress of research and evaluates results. Refines/adapts methodologies to fit specific experiment requirements. Collaborates in the development of new methods and collaborations. Co-authors publications and may co-present findings with Principal Investigator at meetings/conferences. Performs related responsibilities as required.

    Additional Details


    • Assist faculty in determining team goals, initiatives, potential projects and general oversight of the ongoing research projects by potentially contributing analytic plans, implementation of new or novel methods and result interpretation.


    • Facilitate team meetings and check-ins to provide timely feedback to team members that allows projects continued progression and troubleshoot current problems.


    • Co-lead the Transplant Outcomes Research Meeting and Lab Meetings.


    • Collaborate with other grant investigators and staff to plan and develop publications of research findings, organize team manuscripts and manuscript planning across all ongoing research projects.


    • Seek out grant opportunities that align professional and team goals; assist with grant writing and submissions, including, but not limited to:
      • AST Transplantation and Immunology Research Network (TIRN): Faculty development researc
      • ASN Career Development Grants Application
      • Pilot and Feasibility Research Grants

    Utilizing clinical knowledge, provide support to further the development and validation of the predictive models to identify transplant recipients at high risk of hospitalization following transplant.
