JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Addiction Psychiatrist to join its faculty. This position will be split between the Emory Addiction Center (40%), providing outpatient addiction care, and Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) (60%), providing inpatient addiction psychiatry consultation. At EUHM, the Addiction Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat hospitalized patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. The position includes a faculty appointment at Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare, with opportunities to participate in clinical care, education and program development. Support staff for nursing, intake scheduling, and case management will be provided. At EUHM, peer recovery coaches assist with disposition to substance use treatment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Clinical outpatient addiction care, inpatient consultation, teaching, and collaboration are priorities for this position.
• Research or education funding may offset the percentage of effort devoted to clinical activities
• Faculty are encouraged to supervise and teach residents and fellows.
• Proportional on-call coverage is an expected clinical responsibility, averaging approximately four weeks per year, with cross coverage for vacations and conferences.
• At both EUHM and the Emory Addiction Center, office space and onsite parking will be provided.
• At EUHM, the Addiction Psychiatrist will provide consultation in inpatient and emergency settings and participate in treatment planning and risk assessment.
• The Addiction Psychiatrist will work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team with expertise in substance use disorders.
• The Emory Addiction Center team includes nursing staff and Patient Care and Patient Service Coordinators who conduct intake scheduling and facilitate case management for patients.
• The position will include a joint faculty appointment at Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare.

QUALIFICATIONS
• The rank of the appointment is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicants.
• Applicants should hold an unrestricted license for the state of Georgia and be board certified in Psychiatry.
• The candidate must be board eligible in Addiction Psychiatry.
• Obtaining board certification will be a requirement for retention.
• Consistent with the mission and priorities of the department and division, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated interests in clinical care, research, and education.
