Full-Time Post-Acute Care Physician Opportunity
Emory Healthcare is seeking full-time Geriatrician to join our highly collaborative, academic geriatrics program to deliver high-quality post-acute and long-term care in community-based sites in metro Atlanta.
This team-based model blends clinical care, teaching, innovation, and a strong focus on improving outcomes for medically complex patients to provide a distinct clinical service with meaningful continuity of care and direct impact on patient recovery and quality of life.
The ideal candidate will be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Geriatrics (preferred), FM or IM with experience in complex care management and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Practice Details
- Service line provides post-acute rehab, sub-acute care, and long-term care across 3 Emory-affiliated community sites with a combined ~500 beds.
- Primarily older adult patient panel with an average 60% post-acute population and ~3-week length of stay
- Growing multidisciplinary care team of 5+ physicians and highly skilled APPs to assist with acute issues, medically complex patients, and on-going care, plus nurses, PT, nutrition, and more
Position Details
- Work in a collegial environment with a strong team culture and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Provide full-time clinical care in 1-2 community sites with an average patient census of 11-13/day
- Manage a mix of post-acute care including admits, transitions of care, and discharge planning, and long-term primary care including consults, referrals and medication management
- Practice Monday-Friday (potential flexibility) with minimal low-volume telephone-based call rotation shared by 10+ physicians in the Emory Geriatrics group.
- Compensation & Benefits: Guaranteed base salary with quality incentives, sign-on and retention bonuses, 20 PTO days, CME allowance + 5 days, and excellent health and retirement benefits
Academics, Research & Professional Development
- Faculty appointment through Emory School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine with academic opportunities to work with geriatrics fellows, FM and IM residents, and medical students
- Participate in research including collaborations with Emory specialists and colleagues at the CDC
- Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Optional pathway toward leadership development and Certified Medical Director role
