Inpatient Physiatrist
As a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, you would be a member of the PM&R service providing care to general physiatry and cancer rehabilitation patients. The majority of this time will be in direct patient care but appropriate time will be allocated for completion of notes and other administrative duties directly related to patient care. You will be expected to devote between 1% and 25% of your total professional effort to scholarly activities. In keeping with the School of Medicine Guidelines for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure, you are expected to participate in scholarship, which may include authorship of manuscripts, participation in research studies, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly activities. You will be expected to devote between 1% and 25% of your total professional effort to teaching. In keeping with the School of Medicine Guidelines for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure, you are expected to participate in teaching, which may include occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship. You will be expected to devote between 75-100% of your total professional effort to professional service. Expected responsibilities include but are not limited to those outlined below: 5 weekdays will be spent in providing clinical services, with 4 hours per week allocated for administrative time to complete notes, orders, messages, etc. An estimated 2-3 weeks per year will be providing night and weekend call coverage at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital in a capacity similar to other physiatrists in our department. Process Improvement activities as directed by the Medical Director and Committee membership and participation as directed by the Chair and the Medical Director may be intermittently required. Provide supervision and teaching of residents, fellows and other trainees. Initially, your effort will be allocated to providing general physiatry and cancer rehabilitation services. Staffing support and equipment will be provided.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
