The Department of Orthopaedics at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join our expanding Medical Optimization Clinic. This is an outpatient-based role, functioning as a preoperative Internal Medicine consultant, focused on optimizing patients prior to surgical intervention.
Our mission is to partner with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based medical optimization and preoperative assessment for patients undergoing surgery at Emory University Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital. This physician will practice with a high degree of autonomy while also collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple specialties to ensure patients are appropriately optimized prior to surgery.
Ideal candidates will have a background in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Perioperative Services. Strong Chief Residents and new graduates with a demonstrated interest in perioperative care will also be considered.
The role offers opportunities for career growth and involvement in program development, as well as the ability to supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
