The Department of Radiation Oncology of the Emory University School of Medicine is recruiting for a physician and/or physician scientist at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level for our Grady Hospital location, who would also serve as the chief of service for radiation oncology at Grady Hospital. Candidates for the position should have completed an accredited residency and be Board Certified or in the process of becoming Board Certified through the American Board of Radiology. The candidate should ideally have a strong focus on clinical or translational research including clinical trials, residency education, and multi-disciplinary care of cancer patients.

Emory at Grady is a robust and thriving academic practice plan with over 1,500 Emory-employed individuals who have either full-time or part-time commitments at Grady Memorial Hospital, the tenth largest public hospital in the United States and Atlanta's only Level I Trauma Center. Eighty percent of Grady’s physicians are Emory faculty and one-third of Emory’s residents train at Grady at any given time.

The department is growing in all three areas and currently has over 70 faculty distributed among Divisions of Clinical Affairs, Cancer Biology, Medical Physics, and Health Services Research. Faculty members are nationally recognized for subspecialty care in areas including pediatric oncology, brain tumors, head and neck cancer, lymphoma, breast, genitourinary, and lung cancer. The department operates six sites of care in the Atlanta area, including the Emory Proton Therapy center.  This position is an ideal opportunity to join a large team dedicated to elevating the quality of care in a major metropolitan area.

Winship Cancer Institute is the only National Cancer Institute–Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Georgia. The Winship Cancer Institute coordinates subspecialties of cancer diagnostic imaging, care, and research throughout the university.
