Description

Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare seek an accomplished physician-leader to serve as Director of Interventional Oncology (IO) within the Division of Interventional Radiology (IR). Lead the future of Interventional Oncology at Emory, shape the care for thousands of patients annually, drive research and innovation, and collaborate with internationally regarded leaders in Interventional Radiology, Oncology, Surgery, and Nuclear Medicine in the heart of Atlanta.

Emory and Winship

The Division of Interventional Radiology and Image-Guided Medicine at Emory is home to several modern IR thought leaders, numerous expert interventional oncologists, and a comprehensive and diverse service that provides care in a variety of settings including an academic tertiary transplant care center, large urban Level 1 trauma center, suburban sites, hybrid hospitals, and a dedicated 17-story, 450,000-square-foot cancer hospital in the heart of Midtown, Atlanta – including 24 private care suites per outpatient floor, 80 inpatient beds, advanced operating suites, state of the art interventional suites and interventional CT, and a modern design created to support seamless integration of inpatient and outpatient oncology care.

The interventional team is an integral part of multidisciplinary collaboration and care for cancers of the liver, kidney, lung, and bone across the system – including leading standard of care programs and multi-pronged research efforts. Emory Interventional Radiology leads and participates in a wide array of clinical trials, including studies on Y-90 radioembolization for hepatic metastases, combined locoregional and systemic therapies, and cutting-edge procedural innovations. These studies are backed by highly productive faculty and strong institutional research infrastructure.

The Division of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at Emory is a national and international leader in the development, translation, and implementation of advanced radiopharmaceutical therapies, molecular imaging, and theranostics – and works closely with IR to optimize operational and innovative processes.

The larger Winship Cancer Institute umbrella is Georgia’s only National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and treats over 17,000 new cancer patients annually across a network of Emory hospitals and clinics.
