Assistant Coach Cross Country
Position Type: Part-Time
Location: Combination of Onsite & Remote
Position Summary:
The Men’s & Women’s Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in delivering a competitive
and positive cross-country program for student-athletes. This role involves assisting with
practices, competitions, recruiting, and program operations while fostering a culture of
discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and help oversee practices twice a week during the in-season.
• Travel to competitions according to the then-current competition schedule.
• Participate in and contribute to team meetings.
• Assist with transportation, including driving school vans when needed.
• Lead and oversee recruiting efforts year-round.
• Support the Head Coach in ensuring a safe, organized, and engaging training
environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least one (1) year of experience coaching or competing in cross-country.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements for school vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Three (3) years of coaching experience.
• Certifications in training, coaching, or wellness.
• Experience recruiting and mentoring student-athletes.
Work Schedule:
• In-season practices twice per week (onsite).
• Competition travel as scheduled.
• Year-round recruiting responsibilities (remote and onsite as needed).
