Job Description: Division Director, Palliative Medicine
The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine invites applications for the leadership position of Division Director for the Division of Palliative Medicine.
The Division Director for Palliative Medicine plays a pivotal role in advancing the academic mission of the Division, encompassing education, research, and faculty development, while maintaining a close collaborative relationship with the Director of the Emory Palliative Care Center (EPCC). The clinical and academic missions within Palliative Medicine are distinct but interconnected, necessitating seamless coordination to ensure excellence in both domains.

Qualifications
Eligible candidates must have board certification in hospice and palliative medicine or demonstration of an academic focus within the field and be eligible to hold a regular faculty appointment in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine or a closely related field. They must demonstrate a record of accomplishment in education, research, and/or clinical care within Palliative Medicine or a related discipline. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Relationships and Reporting Structure
The Division Director reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. For clinical matters and initiatives impacting the EPCC, the Division Director must work closely and collaboratively with the EPCC Director, ensuring a unified approach to advancing Palliative Medicine across Emory University and its affiliated entities.
