Description

Children’s Behavioral and Mental Health Center is undergoing rapid growth and transformation. We are working to innovate the mental health care system for children in Georgia and are recruiting dedicated and experienced team members who are eager to join this mission.


Children’s is seeking a Pediatric Psychologist to serve as a team member within solid organ Transplant Services. This position is specifically focused on liver pre-, peri-, and post-transplant populations and will join psychology colleagues who specialize in kidney and heart transplant. The Pediatric psychologist will join a multidisciplinary group of physicians, surgeons, APPs, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, and social workers. This position will report to the Pediatric Psychology Program Manager, partner with Transplant leadership, and serve as a critical member of the behavioral and mental health team.


The Pediatric Psychologist will see a diverse patient population across the care continuum (inpatient, in clinic, and via telemedicine) and will participate in multidisciplinary transplant evaluations. Opportunities to incorporate psychological/neurodevelopmental testing in the transplant evaluation and as part of ongoing care are available. The psychologist will carry an outpatient therapy caseload of liver transplant patients in addition to participating in multidisciplinary care. The successful candidate will have experience with evidence-based assessment and treatment including diagnostic interviewing, behavioral and cognitive-behavioral interventions for the treatment of physical symptoms, working with families, and multidisciplinary treatment.


Psychologists participate in the training of psychology doctoral students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows as well other behavioral mental health trainees. Opportunities for clinical research and program development across our acute clinical care settings are available. This position is eligible for a faculty appointment through the Emory University School of Medicine. Rank is commensurate with experience.

 

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA/CPA accredited program and must have completed an APA accredited child internship. This position is open to both early career and experienced psychologists. Applicants should be licensed or licensed-eligible in Georgia prior to employment and must obtain board certification within hospital timelines.
