Description

Emory Division of Hospital Medicine and Grady Memorial Hospital seek an experienced academic hospitalist to lead our vibrant and growing Grady Hospital Medicine Service.  Reporting directly to the Grady Chief of Medicine, Dr. Joanna Bonsall, and the Emory Division of Hospital Medicine Director, Dr. Dan Hunt, this position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic hospitalist group focused on providing outstanding care for inpatients through direct care, teaching, orthopedic co-management, and procedure services.  The successful candidate will be an experienced hospitalist who is clinically oriented, committed to the mission of Grady Memorial Hospital, and possesses a record of success in mentorship and faculty development. 

 

The Grady Hospital Medicine Service (60 physicians, 13 advanced practice providers) is the largest section within the Emory Division of Hospital Medicine which is one of the largest academic hospital medicine divisions in the country.  Grady hospitalists serve in influential leadership roles including unit medical directors, residency program leaders, and hospital leadership roles.  The group is looking to expand its quality improvement, research, and scholarship.

 

Qualifications

 

Qualified candidates must hold an MD degree, be a board-certified physician, and possess substantial clinical experience.  Leadership experience in an academic medical center setting or academic affiliated community hospitals is preferred.  We are looking for a leader with operational expertise and a successful record of academic achievement.  The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to collaborate in a matrixed and rapidly evolving hospital environment.
