Description

Faculty hires will see patients with a diverse spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver disease. They will work closely with gastroenterology trainees in the outpatient GI clinic and perform gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures at Grady Memorial Hospital.  

They are required to periodically cover the inpatient consultation service with the gastroenterology fellows. Faculty hires will deliver the outpatient and inpatient clinical services as described in job description. Faculty hires with an interest in advanced endoscopy (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography and Endoscopic Ultrasound) or in inflammatory bowel disease are encouraged to apply.  

Faculty hires are required to contribute to the teaching mission of the division by bed-side teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. Occasional educational talks will be given to the division and other units in the School of Medicine. Mentorship of fellows, residents, and students is encouraged.

Qualified candidates must be Board eligible, or board certified in Gastroenterology and hold an MD or DO degree. Candidates must have a strong commitment to patient care, student and house staff education, clinical medicine and research. Gastroenterologists receive faculty appointments at Emory University School of Medicine commensurate with their experience.
