Discover Your Career at Emory University

Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Description

Dr. Biplab Dasgupta’s laboratory is a place where highly motivated, self-driven, and ambitious postdoctoral researchers can thrive. Using genetically engineered mouse models and human tissue, we are engaged in cutting-edge research to understand neural stem cell metabolism, metabolic liabilities of adult and pediatric high-grade brain tumors, and energy and nutrient-sensing signaling pathways in cancer and normal cells regulated by the AMPK-mTOR pathways. We are also profoundly interested in understanding how non-genetic factors such as diabetes and obesity regulate the incidence and penetrance of human cancer. We are using genetically engineered mouse models to address this question. Joining our team will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to our published work in highly visible journals, including Science Advances, Cell Reports, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Communications, PNAS, Cancer Cell, Neuro-Oncology, Cancer Research and Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, and to further your own research and career.

My laboratory recently moved from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to Emory University
School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. I am looking for an ambitious postdoctoral
researcher to work on a project to understand the mechanisms by which environmental
factors such as diabetes and obesity regulate cancer incidence and penetrance. Interested applicants may submit their CV and contact me via email biplab.dasgupta@emory.edu.
