Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine and the Emory Transplant Center are seeking a licensed/licensed-eligible clinical health psychologist to work primarily on the inpatient heart/VAD and lung transplant teams as part of the Transplant Behavioral Health program.   

 

Primary roles include (1) pre- and post- surgical assessment, treatment planning and implementation of brief health psychology interventions for hospitalized transplant candidates and recipients; (2) attendance in organ specific team meetings and the transplant behavioral health team; (3) conduct outpatient individual and group therapy services within the lung/heart/VAD populations; (4) educating and training staff and supervising and teaching within the psychiatry residency and psychology training programs, (5) participating in research or quality improvement activities, and (6) contributing to the department and broader institution through service.   

 

Applicants must have a doctorate in clinical psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, an APA accredited internship, and at least one-year supervised postdoctoral training. Applicants with administrative competencies, in addition to clinical, research, and teaching expertise, are encouraged to apply.  Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately and will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled.
