JOB DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Golf Coach performs responsibilities as assigned by the Head Women's Golf Coach. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reputation of Emory University and the Athletics program, and positively impacts the relationship between the University and its students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community. Managerial Duties - Leads and manages the golf operation of the home event (emails, builds relations, handles all detail on finances and scheduling). Coordinates and arranges travel for the team. Assists and supports the financial operations office by completing required processes, requests, and tasks in a timely manner in relation to the program. Analyzes video and statistical data to further develop and improve student-athlete performance. Coordinates strategic communication and media relations efforts. Communicates with Sports Medicine, Sports Information, Strength and Conditioning, and administrative staff when necessary. Ensures compliance with NCAA, UAA, and institutional policies and procedures. Attends department and Campus Life meetings and events as required. Supplies reordering, uniforms, invoices sent to financial department. Coaching Duties - Provides leadership, organization, and supervision for practice and competition. Maintains a high standard of performance consistent with Emory University and the Department of Athletics' mission of academic and athletic excellence. Proficiency to perform various office duties such as managing recruiting database of student-athletes, and maintaining contacts and records. Develops daily, weekly, and seasonal training plan. Coordinates the day-to-day operations for women's golf program as directed by the head coach, collaborating with departments throughout Emory that contribute to the student-athlete experience. Recruiting Duties - Identifies, evaluates, and recruits qualified prospective student-athletes to participate in the program, and successfully promotes the academic and athletic programs. Coordinates official and unofficial visits. Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures as well as the rules and regulations of the University. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in public relations, operations, or business, and one year of related experience, OR a master's degree in business, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Two years of previous playing experience is preferred.
