Description

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in partnership with the Division of Pediatric Neurology, Department of Pediatrics at Emory University are looking for a Pediatric Neurologist with special expertise in epilepsy/neurophysiology to join an academic/clinical team at an Assistant/Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will become an active member of the pediatric neurology clinical care team; contributing to the area of Epilepsy and neurophysiology and developing expertise as a clinical researcher. Epileptologists participate in the teaching of Neurology Residents and Epilepsy Fellows as well as staffing a 12 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Fast Access Neurology clinics and reading LTVM/EEG studies. Children’s has several epilepsy sub specialty clinical programs in Ketogenic diet, genetic epilepsy, Infantile Spasms/epileptic encephalopathy, psychogenic non epileptic events (PNEE) and Epilepsy Surgery. The successful candidate can be part of the any existing programs or can develop his/her own niche.

The Pediatric Neurosciences Program is part of the Brain Health Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and ranked 1st in the Southeast and 12th in the USA by U.S. News & World Report. It is one of the largest programs in the country, handling more than 2,400 pediatric neurological inpatient cases and performing over 1,400 neurosurgeries each year.

Children’s is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Georgia and one of the largest in the country, serving nearly 400,000 unique patients each year with 638 licensed beds. Children's has state-of-the-art facilities and technology, an electronic medical record, voice recognition software and access to more than 60 pediatric sub-specialties. Emory's Department of Pediatrics is ranked number 3 in research funding by the National Institutes of Health.
