Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford, Georgia Oxford College of Emory University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Developmental Psychology to begin August 2023. The division seeks a scholar with a background in developmental psychology with a lifespan perspective, broadly construed. We seek, in particular, a teacher-scholar engaged in developmental research that interfaces with diversity, equity and inclusion, culture, gender, race, ethnicity, ability, or other historically marginalized or under-researched populations.
The teaching load is three courses per semester. Candidates should be prepared to regularly teach an introductory course on development across the lifespan, an introductory psychology course (Psych 111), and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise including a first-year seminar (Discovery Seminar--DSC 101). The Oxford College curriculum includes opportunities for experiential, community-based, and global learning courses and we encourage inclusion of a statement or syllabus illustrating how your regularly offered courses might extend these types of opportunities for our students. Required - A Ph.D. in Psychology or a sub-discipline completed by August 2023
Preferred – Candidates with experience in inquiry-based teaching and student-centered learning are particularly encouraged to apply.

Evidence of, or commitment to, excellence in teaching could consist of student or peer classroom evaluations, example syllabi or assignments, and evidence of instructional improvement efforts including attending workshops, seminars, or conferences on teaching, or participation in a personal teaching consultation that resulted in concrete changes in your approach to teaching.
